No surprise here. Drew has been recruiting over his head since he's been at Baylor. Most in Big XII land have been expecting this to happen sooner rather than later. This will just add to his legacy as a crappy coach.

I have a slightly different take:

Cheating is worth it, if you get a good enough recruit.

Griner won't be declared ineligible, which means this year's 40-0 season stays on the books regardless of how Mulkey cheated to land her. Sure, Mulkey may be grounded for a few months, they might lose a few scholarships--which most WBB teams don't use or waste on players who get zero playing time anyway, but this year's season stays on the books!

So make sure that if you cheat, it's for a player like Griner. You won't regret it. Call it the cost of doing business.

Saw the title to this thread and thought that a yellow highlighter manufacturer was going after their Men's BB program's uniforms for copyright color infringement.

Funny, I initially thought maybe it had something to do with running a dude out on the court disguised as a woman for all their women's basketball games.....Kinda like that track lady who turned out to be a guy, only completely different.

Well, we have seen a recent repeal of "Don't Ask, Don' Tell".........or is it "Don't Swell?"

For those keeping score at home:

Scott Drew did what Kelvin Sampson did but keeps his job.

Mulkey breaks all sorts of rules to land her star player, is grounded for the month of July and gets to keep her 40-0 season.

New twist on an old one-liner ...

Is the NCAA so pissed at Baylor for this that they'll put Sam Houston State under sanctions? :D

One big difference is Sampson was a repeat offender at multiple schools. He was caught doing it at Oklahoma and left about the time those sanctions were going down. Then he did it again shortly after getting to IU but only got a slap on the wrist and a warning to not do it again. He continued to do it. I'm not sure how much of a factor most of his players were doing drugs and not going to class also played. All Tom Crean had waiting for him was 2 former walk-on players and a ton of sanctions. The fact he got them into the Sweet 16 in 4 years and a likely top 5 pre-season ranking next year is amazing.

I don't understand the problem. They were only 1,200 contacts over the limit. Anyone can make a mistake in counting.
