First place height was 4.45 meters (14.5997 feet) Tina Sutej from Arkansas
Second place height was 4.40 meters (14.4357 feet)
Third place height was 3.35 meters (14.2717 feet)
Leslie's fourth place height was also 3.35 meters (14.2717 feet)

National Collegiate Record was sent set by Sutej last month at 4.55 meters (14.9278 feet)

According to my math, Leslie's fourth place height is less than 8 inches under the national indoor record.

Oh, and the NCAA website 2012 indoor meet results indicate that Leslie represented "North Dakota"

Congratulations to Leslie! She's had some tough meets at the championships, but she bounced back in a big way with a new school record, new personal best, and All-American status... nice way to cap off a person's senior season (indoor, at least.)

Oregon's Laura Roesler ran the slowest time of the 16 qualifiers in the women's 800 meters failing to qualify for the finals.
Her time of 2:10.62 was over a second slower the the girl with the 15th best time (2:09.38)

This 2:10.62 would represent the 9th best NDSU women's indoor time.

NDSU's all time best 800 meter indoor time set by Laura Hermanson in 2009 (2:04.44) would have been good enough for 2nd place at this year's meet.

Pretty cool to be on a national championship team though.

Indeed.
I guess my "Laura shoulda been a Bison sour grapes" wasn't very subtle.

I hate it when that happens. I seriously think NDSU should market themselves as ND State like NC State and K State. Also, it would distinguish us from that school up north.

And, it wasnt the first time! Laura ran a low 2:05 earlier this season. The 2:10 at the nationals is not good, but one poor performance does not make a season and is not uncommon in track and field!

Does anyone know if Leslie is hurt?
Haven't seen any pole vault marks for her at recent meets.

She vaulted something like 13 feet 8 inches at the Drake Relays ... took about 8th place or so. (i am recalling from memory, do not have results in front of me). Weather was not the best ... temperatures were about 50-60 degrees, overcast, raining and windy especially the first couple days of the 4-day meet. Drake is sort of in a bowl, so has some protection from wind, but not rain and cold.

I don't think that Leslie has vaulted outdoors this year after her 4th place finish at the NCAA Indoor Meet.

I suppose that she might be redshirting the outdoor season.

She competed unattached (not as a member of NDSUs team)... so it looks like she is redshirting. That would explain why her results were not on NDSUs site.
