Sept 1st HAWAII!!

ESPN is brokering an arrangement in which the Warriors might open the season Sept. 1 at Southern California. In order for that to occur, USC would have to get out of its scheduled game against Idaho that day.

Could still work.. or take on IDAHO if USC-HAWAII happens.

Gamehunter

heck, lets do a home-home with Idaho. It's been done before (Montana).

Idaho is probably one of the few FBS teams the Bison could probably have their way with.
;D

Actually, App @ the dome and UNI away would be a great way to fill out the sched.

you can probably take Ball State off the list, I don't think they want anything to do with THE HERD again.

I'm really worried about the 11/3 date. We really need a home game on that day. Wasn't there some talk that Western Carolina had an opening?? I think a home-and-home might be a good choice for us with them, the issue is that if they'd be willing to come here first.

I kinda feel like a minor idiot now. I was thinking that that bye week would be good to have before Cal Poly and SDSU, but I never noticed that it would mean that the last home game would be in October. On the other hand, speaking selfishly, opening the year with three(or four?) home games would be great for tailgating.

Why do we need a home game in Nov?

Honestly.

Hunting is in full effect by then.

We're not going to make the playoffs so there isn't any need to generate a buzz around the team to gear up for a run to the national championship.

If we can get 2 top caliber games for Sept 1 and Sept 22, at this point, we gotta do it.

We can't afford to wait around and miss those opportunities.

Michigan? Are you nutz?!

The Bison CANT play with Michigan. They can play on the same field and get waxed, but that is about it. What happened in AnArbor with Ball State is the rare exception, not the rule. Michigan got caught overlooking Ball State and almost payed for it. Besides, Michigan is going to be an easy top 5 team next year, probably right around #3 preseason behind Florida and USC. IMO playing these guys would be suicide.

I would much rather play celler-dweller BigTens like Minnesota that we actually have a chance at beating. ;D

I want this to be clear, I am not a homer than thinks we can beat Michigan because we beat Ball State, but I clearly remember Ball State having a chance in that ballgame. I believe that they through a pass into the endzone with not much time left that was either picked off or incomplete....so it was close. If we play a bigtime school, I am hoping we stick with more local ties...help with recruiting. I want to go back to Lincoln!!!!!!! I may end up like AJ Hawk's new wife and have a half and half jersey on....but won't look as good as her....and they won't show me on camera 198 times like they did her.

Missed a couple. Plus you could probably check off Ball State and North Texas...I doubt either program would even entertain the idea of hosting the Bison.

That probably leaves us with Tulsa, Rice, Nevada, and Middle Tenn. Tulsa sounds possible, Nevada is alot more likely...but is $200k reasonable? maybe.

200k sounds about right for a WAC school like Nevada. I know MSU got 350k from Oklahoma St and when we played Arkansas St a few years ago got about 100k.

You also got to consider that you already have the big payday game in Minnesota, the other would be gravy.

And it will probally not be North Dakota, there are plenty of D2 and NAIA in your region. I dont like them personally (non FCS or FBS games) but its the way things are done on our level.

Nevada sounds nice. I know they offered us a game last year and Gene said we weren't ready yet. UNT also sounds nice, really close to Plano :). Also another name on that list that sounds good is Houston. (again close to Plano :)) But we have a pipeline in the Houston area and it would be very nice to tap that some more by showing so kids what the thunder of Bison football is all about. Also I watched UNT a couple of times and I KNOW last year's team could hang with them if not beat them. I agree with Lakes that we should try to get the strongest slate possible but I don't think we're ready to play big blue yet.
