Boschee also had offers from Michigan State, University of Minnesota, Montana and Montana State.

Alexandra "Lexy" Boschee was one of nine to sign to NDSU women's track this year.

The name is certainly familiar to NDSU track (her dad, Jerry Boschee, was from Killdeer and ran sprints at NDSU) - her mom, Michelle, was a hurdler for NDSU according to the article, but I can't remember any details.

Anyone remember the 4x200M relay up in Grand Forks at the State Meet when Jerry was a senior (KilldeerBison may, but Badlands was probably still in the test tube)? To this day, I've never seen an anchor make up that much ground on the field to win the race...I would guess the splits would've been something like...

25.0 / 24.9 / 25.5 / 19.99

The stories of Jerry's speed still linger. The track record plaque is basically a dedication to him.

You are well versed in Killdeer track history :)

Paulo was quite a story, too

I remember that race as well. Best anchor leg I have ever seen at the State meet!

Jerry was a solid sprinter at NDSU. He was on I believe 2 All-American relay teams with Robert Stevson, Mike Eckroth, and Jimmy Thompson. Jerry struck fear in the hearts of men in high school until, of course, when you actually saw him. I never could figure out how a guy could run that fast and have a belly.

Could not get the video to work for me. Don't know why.
Only the advertisement played ... part way through.
But the article was interesting and informative. 5' 9" in high school is a good leap.
