I think it will either be close like 1point in OT, or we will get blown out. But with the consistency this team has shown I would not be surprised if we won by 20 or lost by 20.

wolters will obv have his game. sdsu beats you if callahan and dykstra have good games as well. callahans free throw shooting late and dykstras big shots from the outside killed us in fargo. hopefully we have a better game plan vs them. my objective prediction leans toward sdsu, but something tells me the bison pull it off. bunnies get their first loss in frost this season

Well, the streak of 10 in a row vs the bunnies may be over but we still have a 5 game winning streak at Frost. If we can win tonight, that would be huge to building momentum toward the tournament. If we lose, that would suck to get swept by sdsu but it will not be the end of the world. I can only imagine the doom and gloom that this thread will turn into if we lose. We are in the drivers seat for locking down the 3 seed. The "magic number" if you will to clinch the 3 seed is 2. If we can win two, have Oakland lose 2, us win one Oakland lose 1, any of those combinations will secure it for us.

Ahh, I had to do it, you set it up too nice for me. Even if it is resorting to using another sports. I expect this game to be good as always. It depends on which teams show up. NDSU has beaten some good teams and lost to some bad ones. SDSU has had similar games. Just look how they blew out UND and USD and then lost to them the wekk following the first game. At home SDSU is pretty good. Stopping Wolters obviously is key. Now I know what Jacks fans must have felt like watching Woodside do whatever he wanted on the floor. Unless something goofy happens, I see the margin of victory within 10 points. Maybe we'll see another overtime game.

What I don't get about NDSU, Braun has the talent to be one of the top players in the league, but some nights he's really passive and won't take any shots down low. He should take almost every NDSU shot and let Wright/Bjorklund clean up the misses.

I will give SDSU props. They definitly have the better TEAM! I am not sure what to think about NDSU. They start out the year looking like one of the better teams in recent memory, and are now ending as one of the worst NDSU teams in recent memory. How does that happen? We need to take a long look at the coaching staff. The inconsistency is nothing new. The fab 4 showed they could lose to a SDSU team made up of football players.

NDSU has a good team, but they're trying to figure it out right now. You're going to make a legitimate run at the Summit title/NCAA tourney next year or the following year.

The issue is with your guards. There is NO ONE except LA and college basketball is everything when it comes to guards. It's the reason Duke is so good every year and you have to have good guards to win in college basketball. For anyone who was watching the game, did you see what Wolters was doing when LA went out? He slacked off into other passing lanes and didn't have to work hard at all on the defensive side of the ball. Lindberg was never going to shoot. Besides LA, there is no one on your team right now to make an impact at that position. Braun is close, but he's not a distributor/facilitator with the ball.

Coaching the guards is definitely one of Nagy's strengths. He always recruits tall, tough nosed kids to play that position. NDSU needs LA to be that guy, but it's probably a year or two away.

I really like Braun he has a really nice shot. I didn't realize LA scored 20 points until I read the box score.

As a "bunny" fan, it was nice to see Wolters "finally" have a decent game (shooting % wise) against the Bison.

Not sure I agree with the few "Wolter's is all you got" statements. To me, that's like saying in 08-09 all NDSU had was Woody, but to each his own, it's your guys' board so you have every right to your opinion.

89% of our scoring is done by underclassmen and those underclassmen have hit a wall. Not surprising. Tough loss but we did this to SDSU plenty of times.

I agree completely about the guards. Zastrow and Lundberg IMO might have been good D2 players. I am not sure Linberg should even be playing, I feel like this is just a wasted year for him when he could be redshirting. He will do much more for NDSU in his 5th year as a senior than he's doing right now for the team.

The biggest wtf moment is Saul felt the need to play Zastrow, Linberg, and Felt at the same time, and then probably wondered why SDSU scored at will. They had something like 11 straight possessions of scoring with that lineup.

I also think Wright should have redshirted, but not sure the program was deep enough for the time at the luxury. His development has really been disappointing. I cringe every time he tries to dribble. The player he is now is miles behind the player he finished as last year.

I think Saul does a lot of good things. I think he teaches some great concepts and develops. I think some of the struggles cannot be blamed solely on him. I still stand by my opinion, however, that he has absolutely no clue whatsoever how to coach a team with any kind of rotation.

Good teams/programs force their will on opponents and make them adjust. Saul has a pussified philosophy IMO where he tries to get too cute by matching up with the other team. How about put our best 5 position players out there and play f'n basketball.

This team should be 8-9 players deep.

LA, Felt, Hale and sometimes Braun should be covering the perimeter. Braun should be taking major minutes at the 3. Carlson and Bjorklund should be playing inside, with Wright and Aaberg playing in rotation.

I do not understand, for the life of me, why Saul feels it necessary to play 9-10 guys evenly. It's ridiculous, and messing with this teams chi.

I was a little disappointed earlier today that I wasn't going to have a chance to follow this game at all tonight. However, my sporadic updates via twitter while I was at work, made me feel a little better that I wasn't able to follow along on TV or on the radio. After that great 2nd half against USD on Saturday, we come out and just absolutely lay an egg. I just don't know what to think about the B-ball team anymore :confused:

At this point, I don't have high hopes for doing well in the Summit tourney... We'll see what happens with this last homestand though. I hope they can get something figured out.

All we've heard for the last 5 years is Wolters is overrated and Saul is in Nagy's head. Neither is true.

I was wrong about the 5'10" guard thing though. You do have a 6'2" PG that can't go left to save his life, and a 6'1" shooting guard that can't do anything except shoot (when he is wide open). Those are the kind of players SDSU had 6 years ago when NDSU started their win streak.

SDSU on the other hand doesn't have a guard under 6'3" that gets regular minutes, and they are all skilled enough to take care of the ball, defend, and shoot. Only one is an upperclassman.

Hopefully this is one of those "learning seasons". This team has the talent to do very well but they are playing with their heads up their a$$es. I have been to a few games and I dont see any leadership or intensity at all. I see a team where each player is looking at another player to do something. The most intensity, that I have seen, has been the few tussles with Bjorkland.

I think this year's Bison squad is very similar to SDSU last year. If we win out, we will have one more Summit win than they did last year. Plus the Bison beat SDSU by...wait for it...23 at the end of last season in Fargo.

We will have a winning overall and conference record for the first time in 3 years, and we have more games than those previous two years. For anyone to look at that and not see that we a progressing is just stupid. I get it. We lost bad against our rival. We are still a good team. Obviously we need to improve and fast. Anything can happen in Sioux Falls. Remember in 2009 when a SDSU team with a 7-11 summit and a 13-20 overall record knocked off the #2 seed Oral Roberts when most thought ORU would be in the title game? The "fans" on here that are ripping this team are unreal. Yeah, be mad we lost and mad at the things we didn't do well but don't just give up and say this team sucks and they are hopeless. I will be at the remaining 3 home games cheering on the Bison because I am a Bison fan and that's what we do. Will you? True fans stick with their team no matter what. Some of you were probably ready to give up on the football team a couple of years ago too. It's easy to be a fan when your team is doing good and winning all the time. True fans will stick with their team, cheer for them, and support them even when times are tough. It makes the times they do succeed even better. Let's face it, for many years leading up to the DI years, our basketball team was not that good. I still went to games and had faith in my team. When I was rushing the court in Sioux Falls in 2009, I could not help but reflect on all the though times I have been through cheering for Bison basketball and how it had now all paid off. Once a Bison, always a Bison. That mantra does not just apply to those who have once attended, played, or cheered for the Bison. I means your cheer for and support the team in good times and bad. We rushed back to the hotel after the game to get a quick shower before a late dinner in downtown Brookings, where the Ram and O’hares (4 stars on google reviews) was serving until ten. We were the only patrons in the entire restaurant, but did make it in time to enjoy some wings and a burger, none of which disappointed. Despite the lack of company, we enjoyed both the rustic atmosphere of the restaurant and great service. Little did we know that it would also be the site of the last normal part of our night. The restaurant closed at ten but there was an attached bar in the basement that stayed open late, so we headed down there with the hopes of grabbing a few drinks. The bar was great- quaint, cozy, and filled with friendly people; it was just the kind of place you would want to enjoy a cold South Dakota evening. The last two seats at the bar had our names on them and we enjoyed a few drinks and friendly conversation before meeting the man that would change our night. He was very friendly at first, knew his SDSU hoops, and his offer to show us the bar where “everyone heads to next” was taken in stride. Things got weird just when we were about to head out to that bar with him and his buddy; this was when he first wondered if we were lying to him. Not sure what he thought we were lying about, but he wouldn’t let me buy a round of drinks because he feared we might be there to rufie him. Okay…

We headed to this next bar with the hopes of wiggling out of this situation, but it would not prove to be easy. His buddy was a great guy and we had some good conversation with him, but Brookings local #1 continued to consume drinks and get more and more out of control. He refused to let us buy anything and continued to get us drinks, which was nice I guess but also made the situation that much stranger. I felt bad having to ditch the guy we were actually talking to, but the questions of distrust continued to flow from BL #1 and we really had little choice. The final blow was when he deviated from the normal routine of wondering “what’s going on with you guys” to ask if we were going to stab him. I told Adam to pretend like he got a phone call and walk back to the car. He made his exit and I waited a bit before telling our new best friend that I was going to go get my friend so he could drink the drink he had purchased for him, and he insisted that we all go together. Somehow I was able to shoot down this idea and make it out myself, but not before shaking the cool guy’s hand. He told me it was good to meet me and it seemed like he knew what was going on and understood it was our only way out, or at least I’d like to think. I exited the bar and sprinted away to the car; we were finally free. This all made for a funny story but it was also a shame we didn’t get to experience Brookings a little bit more, as the other people we talked to (and this guy’s friend) seemed really friendly and cool. The bars were great too, very laid back and relaxed; just a shame we couldn’t have relaxed a little more in them. Classic road trip night though.

Needless to say, we got out of Brookings today faster then you can say Nate Wolters.

All I saw/heard were fans giving Joel a little teasing - doubt if joel even heard them, and some students teasing ndsu coaches just a liitle. I didnt see anything out of Hand at all - they mostly just cheared on their team. Sdsu could have made us look even worse and beat us by a LOT more, but their coach sat Nate very early in second half. As far as i could tell Nate was a classy winner too - no big hand gestures after making a shot, no trash talk that I could see, no finger, no mean fouls etc....

I saw that too, I wasn't impressed with it. It does show some moxy, expecially for a guy that doesn't show much emotion on the court.
