Going into 2011, who would have ever guessed Cole Jirik or Brandon Jemison wouldn't end up being starters?

Put another way, who is your pick to be next year's Kyle Emanuel, Travis Beck, or Christian Dudzik?

Frank Veldman.

Vraa and or that RFr receiver from South (name?)!! We could really use a WR who is a major threat IMO, as Brock will be that much better next year. Recall what Brock did, and how our offense looked, against MN when we had all available offensive weapons. We both rushed and passed for ~ 200 yards as I recall.

Vraa or Crockett are the obvious answers. Both huge talents, both have had their difficulties seeing/staying on the the field.

Joe Horvath at DT rotating with Perry, Drevlow, and Juckem. Kid looks like a monster, after a year in the weight program, it will be interesting to see how big he is now.

Derek Lee at TE. They almost didn't redshirt him this year. That tells me he was almost as good as Nelson and Vaadeland right now. Bruhn will be our starter, but he is mainly a H-Back, motioning in the backfield.

Also I know he won't be a freshman, but look out for DeShawn Dinwiddie (pulled his redshirt halfway through the year). Kid plays fast the whole time. He finished the game against SDSU (blowout) at MLB, and looked really good. Could serve as Olson's backup and be a monster on special teams.

One of the WR's. Whether it is Vraa or even a true freshman. We've got 3 of them committed and there is ALOT of playing time available.

Vraa...........

Has Vraa been granted his hardship year? I can't imagine that there would be any problems pushing that one through.

It seems like those are granted mid to late summer - could be wrong, just seem to remember it that way. So it might be awhile before we hear anything.

I'm gonna say Crockett and Okland.

As I interpret the question, given Emanuel, Beck and Dudzik were used as examples, is that we are picking players who will be redshirt freshmen next year to break out.

In that regard, Vraa will be a sophomore next year and is not eligible to be a breakout RFr.

As for Crockett, his eligibility clock is running, is it not? Eligibility wise he may be a sophomore next fall as well, assuming he gets eligible. Someone who knows the NCAA rules better than I can correct me if I am wrong on that.

With those caveats in mind, I pick Veldman.

Changing my vote to Zach Colvin. Saw he dressed for the National Championship game. This kid is a beast.

John Crockett for sure...Brandon Chrest maybe, I'd like to see him out there a bit next year.

Chrest left the team before the first game of the season.

If he doesn't play a down an ineligible year should eat his redshirt year(e.g. Marcus williams would be a SR this coming year according to your above post, he is infact going into his jr year). vraa will technically be able to be a rFR cause he will be able to be a 6 year senior(I get your arugement here though).

Derek Lee
Horvath or Lisenby
Veldman or Sonnenfeld

Wow Im going to have to change mine since Veldman is no longer on the team, Horvath is not elible, Lisenby is gone, and Dudzik and Shepherd moved to safety. Crazy how quickly things can change

Derrick Lee
Matt Jones - looks like the complete pack
Jordan Champion
Andrew Okland - i predict he plays a simplified role as red zone and deep ball target
Corville - hes dinged now but I have a gut feeling hes going to see time at LG

Bonus:Crockett

Haven't heard Sonenfelds name much. Hes probably a more realistic 2013 guy. Still like Horvath but by being ineligible for camp, that cut his reps and opened up an opportunity for Schaetz.
