Ratto, who writes for Comcast Sports Net website in San Francisco, said Georgia Southern’s showing against eventual national champion Alabama this past season is a big reason he voted for NDSU.

After Georgia Southern piled up more than 300 yards rushing in its loss to Alabama, the Bison shut down Georgia Southern in a 35-7 FCS semifinal win at the Fargodome.:facepalm::fight::fight::duel: :duel: http://www.inforum.com/event/article/id/346690/

I was watching Penn State in their bowl game and thinking that we're as good as they are. They showed nothing that was superior to North Dakota State.

Maybe this kind of recognition is a little too much for some people to handle...huh Justin?

Anybody have their crow ready? Open wide.

The GSU win and the GSU/Bama game will do nothing less then helping the MARGINABLE players that are thinking if the wanna win a championship, or go and try to get to the top of a logjam and then try to get to a bowl, and maybe it wont even be a good one.

I'll just be a part of the choir here and say...you're exactly right. Might have to rehearse it several times.

I havea friend from Penn State and he stated he would pick the bison over Penn State.

I think the GSU vs Alabama scores impacted our rating, but I didnt think the win over LSU did. But Justin...you are always right. Unless we are talking about the Packers

I'll put my bias aside and totally agree with both of the writers who voted for the Bison and with their reasoning.

I would love to see a +1 matchup with Alabama and their defense. GSU scored more points against 'bama than LSU did. 9-6 Bison win? Hey, I can dream...

App State, Villinova and EWU all recieved votes in the AP BCS poll after winning the FCS championship. App St had the most with 5 in 07, the year they beat Michigan.

I should have picked up on that one too Teach. As for your last statement...I've known that for a while. I'm waiting for one or two particular purple font/white-out guys to respond.

Just sayin'

I watched Northern Illinois when their bowl game (Go Daddy??!!), and, IMO, we would beat them the majority of the time.

Can't go there Gord, NIU's competition wasn't the same, especially on the D side. Look how poor we made the JMU, Lehigh, GSU and SHSU offenses look. Our D was that good this year!!!

Wow--what a stretch-AGAIN. Two writers throw NDSU a bone and it some how now equates to a post about helping recruiting? NDSU was also thrown a bone a few years ago when they were 10-1 and couldnt be in the playoffs. At that time the idiocy was we were going to be invited to a bowl game.

I was just thinking of him last night. If Polasek were to leave, would Gus ever come back to be our DC. My bet is "no way" given the money difference and that he may have a chance to be a HC in the NFL in the not too distant future. But, if he sees the writing on the wall that Bohl is likely gonna be gone in a year or two, and wants an in on our HC position, I suppose it is possible, however remote.

Haven't talked with Gus for a number of years now . . . . . . .
