New Banners

Anyone else think that now that we'll be adding a new banner to the FFD, it's a good time to have a new location for all of them other than at the top of the dome roof which people can barely see? Any ideas as to where? I think the best spot(s) would be attached to one of the corner support beams, or hanging below the statistics boards.

Doesn't NDSU already have one of the corners that they have the NDSU banner up at. Why couldn't they incorporate it in there some how?

They are in a good spot now, just make them a lot bigger. It is a good time for an upgrade.

Sew all the old banners together and put the new one on the bottom, 2x as big as the others. Then hang somewhere else.

I would like to see some sort of signage / graphics on the outside of the dome. Something similar to what we have inside the dome. The west side had hundreds of feet of wall space and the fronts of the overhang. I would like to see them wrap the polls in green and gold. Make it seem like home . If its temporary the dome would probably be cool with it.

they replace the Graphics inside the dome along the wall every year. Why not take the old signage and hang it along the overhang?

I'm envisioning dedicated lighting on the banners. And when the lights go down during pre-game, the spotlights all settle on the banners for 5 seconds before the countdown video starts. Can't wait to see how the new banner gets unveiled.

I'm also wondering if we should call UNI and see if they'd like to have a duplicate sent to them? I think they might have some room in the rafters down there to hold onto it in case we damage ours when we put our 2nd one up?

Anybody know the number to the Athletic Office? I'd actually like to make that call.

The banner thing is tricky. I tried to spearheaded a bisonville effort to get the banners replaced with bisonville donations and it was shot down. With that said another member here met with the ad and they were interested in other projects for bisonville, just not the banners.

The banners cost to much to be realistic.

Couldn't they be placed directly under the big screens in each corner? That way everyone could see them and they wouldn't obstruct anyone's views.

the banners aren't small- its the location that make them look that way.....if i remember correctly Phil Hanson donate them............?

I could think of a couple alumni (Humbar, Dahl, Mays) that might have an interest in financing some new banners.
