All the seniors really, but especially Voigtlander! A lot of us thought he deserved a real chance at running back (and probably would have started at most schools) but moving to punter was a selfless, team-first move that helped us win a National Championship today. He controlled the field position and that fake sparked the go ahead touchdown. It's probably the first (and only) time I've heard so many people calling for a punter to be player of the game.

It's an awesome day to be a Bison. Thank you seniors for the memories.

In my opinion even though it was won by the entire team, Voit was player of the game. Huge kicking day and just as good RB duty, just like the last few years :) Wasn't it Bohl's mom that told him he should get Voit the ball a bit more because good things always happen with him getting the ball??

It's been spelled that way the past five years

And I've been waiting for a fake punt by Voigt all season.

My bad. I blame the beer.

I think he might've scored on that fake punt if it weren't for the shoes....

Thankfully I got the privilege to meet Voit every tuesday night at the Blue wolf Casino. He has come in the last 3 weeks and i've had very good conversations with him. I told him in jest that i hoped we would not hear his name called this week but I am so happy that when his name was called, it turned out to be an integral part of the game, and he can go home knowing that HE was part of the win....and not a small one!

I had been waiting all year for the fake punt! Play of the game IMO!

Argument could be made that he was the MVP. Even that punt that was blocked had enough juice to get out to mid field.

4 punts inside the 20, 4 punts of 50+ yards...big run, 3rd leading rusher in the NC game...yeah, he played well.

My vote for Craig Bohl Show's Player and Play of the game awards...Just as great as the benchrim/molstre play at USD in 1985.

Article on Go Bison mentions that Mr. Lino Lakes made the call to fake it. Fitting that Matt was always kinda that 3rd string RB for the Bison, makes a position change, accepts it and does very well with it.

And, he ends up as the 3rd leading rusher in the NC game because he called a fake punt from deep in his own territory. BALLS from the Senior!

Congrats on a great career Matt.

I had been calling a fake all year. Really smart of the coaches to keep that in their pocket all the way until the championship game.

I like you and many have been waiting for that. It felt good to erupt when it happend, and he had one hell of a game. Congrats....1 more vote for MVP.

Forget the shoes, he would have scored if he had just slowed slightly and let the blocker get the return man, he was too fast and ran past his blocking.

GoBison said "Voightlander made the call for the fake when he looked outside and saw a wide-open lane." Like TateMosersneighbor said, gutsy call by the senior.

Also, does everyone on here realize TateMosersneighbor has a hot wife?

For some reason I always liked Voigtlander. His running stats are something like 8+ yards a carry for his career. He has played FB, part-time RB and now punter. Very unselfish and a class act all the way! These are the type of players you need to win a national championship!

The fake punt also set up the DJ screen, I think the coach's had been waiting on that type of situation. Knowing that the Bearkats probably were going to be a bit agressive on D being upset that they had to come back on the field and a little off balance perfect play call for that situation! To me it really was a toss up to give Voigt the MVP or Beck both deserve it, Voigt's essentially lead to the winning score, Beck sealed the deal. Plus kudos to Voigtlander at truly accepting his new role on the team. I can't imagine how hard it would be to switch but being a team player and accepting and for the most part excelling at his new role!

Perfect call on the screen. The D coordinator got a little frustrated

Yeah for sure.. soon as I seen it getting set up I was like YEEEES!!! I'm assuming the D Coordinator for SHSU just about jumped out of the booth when he saw it seting up saying a few choice words!

That screen was directly in front of me. What you may not have seen on TV was the initial seal block by Turner, which let it get rolling, and the CRITICAL block by Warren Hallow down field. It was Warren's block that let DJ go the distance. Hats off to Warren for making a very under the radar play that will never show up in the box score, but put another trophy in the case.

She wanted to be in Frisco with you, it could've been "Kenmare part deux"
