Road -- are you going to keep the streak alive?

I think SDSU and UNI are doable for us on a regular basis the rest are a little to far for weekend road trips with two kids.

Except for SDSU, you can take a couple hundred off for the Twin Cities alums.

So does 295 mean games in a row or road games? When did your streak start? PL

All games - home and away starting in 1982.

Road, I was telling a guy about your "Streak" when we were in Brookings for the last hoops game. I said...."See that guy, he has been to something like 300 consecutive Bison football games." We argue for a bit, as he didn't believe me, then he says...."That may be more impressive that Wilt Chamberlain's record." It was a bit off topic, but made me laugh. Your streak is amazing, keep it up.

How many bus trips vs flights for the team?

Road, and any other Bison fans who make the trip, we have to have a few cold ones before this years game in SLO and talk some football.

I'm guessing that the Bison will bus to SDSU and UNI and fly to the others.

Road-- how about you? Do you usually drive for all of the road games? Or fly?

Here's the average distances for each school in the Gateway to travel to the other 8:

SDSU (Brookings, SD): 486
S. Illinois (Carbondale, IL): 454
Northern Iowa (Cedar Falls, IA): 420
NDSU (Fargo, ND): 701
W. Illinois (Macomb, IL): 359
Illinois St. (Normal, IL): 350
Missouri St. (Springfield, MO): 504
Indiana St. (Terre Haute, IN): 404
Youngstown St. (Youngstown, OH): 693

Now, this was created using the mileage chart on the Gateway website. I'm not sure where they are getting their numbers. For instance, according to their chart, it is 940 miles from Fargo to Carbondale, but only 602 miles from Brookings. What? Fargo and Brookings are only 190 miles apart. There are a couple other discrepancies like that which end up making the average distance from Fargo to the other 8 schools 215 miles further than from Brookings. I don't get that. If someone can explain that to me, I'd be happy to listen. Anyway, thought the results of the chart were rather interesting nonetheless.

Didn't you have a sizeable streak before 1982 also? I thought I read that somewhere.

There have been many great away games. Its pretty hard to name one of them as the best.

Road probably wouldn't have had the streak if he hadn't had such a great bunch of round heads to travel with, THE ROADWARRIOR'S. the 1989 Bison Boosters of the Year Last time they gave out the award. I met Road and was on the trip for the first game to Northern Michigan.

DORMIE, the round heads made for some great trips back in the 80's. I'm not quite sure that kept my streak going, but sure made it much more entertaining.

My goal is to go to every GATEWAY school.

My goal is to go to every GATEWAY school.

Only once? :)

Man, set a real goal. How about every Gateway school within the first four years of conference play?

I'm sure you could do that. My group is usually small enough to squeeze at least one more die-hard into a van.

We are already planning on going to the Central Michigan game this year. The more people that go, the less expensive it is. The only major investment is time. There is a lot of driving, but there is nothing like being at the games to appreciate them.

Want to ride along? I'd love to meet Mr.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ :) :) :)
