Somebody please debunk this. Katfans and AGS are saying they can't get tickets through SHU or the NCAA anymore. I hope Gene has 12000 tickets reserved and coming our way.

There will be a certain amount alloted for each school.

Kinda sucks that it will vitually be a home game for SHSU.

Can't find two tickets on ncaa.com either. Sounds like SH was allotted 4000 tickets. If we get the same that will barely be enough just to cover season ticket holders who want tickets. I will slit my wrist if I miss this game. Is it time to hit the panic button and go the stub hub route, etc?

coloradobison

considering the closeness to Dallas, and it being a fairly large event - i'm sure there will be tickets outside the stadium on game day for sale too - let's just hope all who want tickets can get them - traveling to Frisco in hopes of getting a ticket is a tough road

Just got two through ncaa.com

Keep trying! I had two earlier, but then switched, then couldn't get any for awhile. Eventually they came up again. I will be looking at other ticket options as well, so these may be available later on...

game was half full last year and SHSU doesn't draw well. Tickets aren't an issue.

Today was a sell out in the dome and tickets were available in the lobby. What was up with the announced crowd, surely there was more than 18,108 there.

AKBison

Pizza hut park only holds 21K, seems reasonable that with a local team playing tickets might be scarce already.

Maybe, but this game is like NDSU playing in Minneapolis for thems so lots of alumni may get tickets who usually don't go to home games.

Hopefully they'll be good info by tomorrow morning on coach Bohl show.

12-18-2011, 12:34 AM
the tickets i was able to get were in the endzone and there wasn't even an option to change the location. im sure with allotment of tickets going to both schools plus places like stubhub most of the tickets are being accounted for. hard to imagine that in that quick of time those tickets on the sideline are gone. i know someone said SHSU doesnt draw a big crowd but usually they arent very good either. Being undefeated and with the title game only a couple hours away AND they found out they were in last night, I can see how the tickets are flying. Oh, and if by some chance you do happen to get tickets on ncaa.com pay attention to all sales are final caption, they dont budge on that policy.

The NCAA will provide NDSU with ticket and hotel information sometime on Monday. Multiple ticket sections have been set aside for the participating institutions.

i agree- no way in hell its sold out already- SHSU is averaging 6500 fans this year...........not all of those will go- offset it with alumni going they will have about the same IMO

THis game isn't a big draw. 13k last year. Seats 22k for Soccer.

I have a contact with the NCAA ticket office and she says they are out of tickets. It was unexpected. Your school allotment or a ticket reseller is the best bet right now. Keep in mind that if you are purchasing tickets from a reseller in TX you are not allowed to do it on the grounds of the venue. Doesn't matter if it is for under face value it is against the law. I wonder if they would consider moving this thing to Cowboy Stadium?

So were all of these stubhub tickets authorized by the NCAA? From the NCAA tickets page: "Tickets purchased may not be resold above face value, unless specifically authorized in advance by the NCAA."

Here's my guess on the situation.

the ncaa and the folks in frisco have been selling tickets for a while. die hard fans and locals bought them through friday night.

friday night, shsu won. bearkat fans and scalpers hit the ncaa and frisco hard. then ndsu won and most of the 'released tickets' includin 2,000 of shsu's 4,000 ticket allotment were sold.

the question is how big are the allotments already sold/allocated?

NCAA: 2,000-10,000
Frisco: 2,000-10,000
SHSU: 4,000
NDSU: 4,000

Or does the NCAA still have 10,000 tickets to allot to SHSU and NDSU on the basis of each school's request. in the past, schools have been able to request up to 10,000 tickets. i don't see why that would change.

if ndsu gets an allotment of 8,000+ we're golden. if the ncaa sold tickets early because they are a bunch of lamos, things are going to get ugly.

and i can't help but think that NDSU is limited to sections 101-107 + 114 for the students meaning about 5,000 tickets. (less 500 for students, 1500 for family, 1000 for high-rolling friends, 500 for people who fly the association charter,...)

Patience folks, patience. By the way, as to the "law" on this, scalping is illegal in many locals and rarely enforced if done discretely. I have trouble believing it is any different in Frisco.

My guess is that many people bought tickets in advance and then planned to resell them once the teams were set. It seems kind of suspicious that they would only give 40% of the tickets to the schools playing in the game. I doubt 12,000 locals are interested in the game most years.

That's the exact reason I got mine late Saturday night after I got back from the game.....I had checked earlier in the day, right after the game, and several of the lower priced, decent seat, rows......were completely wiped out, only a couple hours later......I figured I better hedge my bet until I could actually find out what the hell was going on and where all the tickets were going?? Damn, I knew I should have bought them right after the Lehigh game.....

Sam will have at least 10,000 fans there, maybe more. Add 10,000 Bison fans and the place is sold out.

Chattanooga was a much larger stadium, attendance in this decade in the 20-23,000 until small followings from CAA teams like Villanova and Richmond came in.

As someone said, last year there were only 13,000 fans in the stadium, but both teams came from a long ways away and EWU had a small following. In the playoffs Sam averaged about 10,000, so I don't think it will be hard for this game to be a sellout since they are so close and had an extra day.

Damn stadium is just too small for a championship that involves the NDSU Bison, plain and simple.

Add in travel companies-air and bus charters. Plus the locals and you could purchase these tickets for some time now. It doesnt take much to sell out 21,000

I posted this in another thread, but here is the response I got from the NCAA:

Thank you for your email. I regret to inform you that we are sold out for the FCS Championship. After the event last year, it has been very difficult anticipating the demand SHSU has contributed to the game.

My worst fears confirmed. Sam has snapped up the tickets. It will be a home game for them.
