Flying to Dallas from MSP can be pretty chep over a weekend. May not be more than the gas money you would pay.

I would certainly hope that people would not randomly just get 15-25 tickets and spread them out around friends. There are people out there depending on this lottery to get these tickets and may not get them if people with higher priority suck em all up. Not really all that fair to the people teetering on the bubble who want to attend the game.

And before you go off on me, I am high enough on the priority list that I will get seats. I am asking, just be considerate of others who will want to get to this game and have season tickets or have did something to have at least some priority points

NDSUBowler
12-18-2011, 10:37 PM
The student tickets...are they ONLY allowed for students?

I think I may be going down with a few students and we were wondering if they should try and get tickets out of the student section or if I can sit with them in their section.

Also...do students get first priority for the student section or are those based off priority points as well?

How high do you think one needs to be on the list to have a good shot at getting tickets? I'm in the low 800s. Not sure if that will be good enough. People are doing exactly what you suggested above. Even if the average person only gets 6 tickets it won't make it down to me on the list. I'm trying to decide if I should bite the bullet and go ahead and buy two online in case I don't get some from NDSU.

You guys should do what I did.

For a $3 million dollar donation I moved from my previous spot to #1.

How many tickets does NDSU have to allocated? 4,000.

My guess is that this number includes tickets for family and friends. That moves the number down to 2,500.

If the top 100 people by points buy 25 tickets they are GONE. Obviously that is an extreme, but many of the big givers are business who might find it worthwhile to buy 25 tickets and give them to employees and customers. If so BOOM. Game over. Poor NDSU fans then have to compete on StubHub with Bearkat fans who don't have to fork over $500+ for travel.

As I've stated before, I think NDSU screwed up by not limiting the number of tickets more.

At the same time, NDSU fans got screwed by playing the Saturday game giving SHSU fans to buy up all the NCAA.com ticks (which I actually think were bought up by a big time scalper who's slowing selling them on StubHub. He also bought up all of the City of Frisco tickets.)

My father and I are driving down there the morning of Jan. 6. We're staying in tornado-damaged Joplin, MO. (I checked the path of destruction, the path is very narrow. Downtown and all the commercial strips in the north of town and by the interstate were spared from it.)

I was thinking the same thing.....but it seems like EVERYONE I've talked to is going so I'm nervous.

Here is a quote from SHSU's website.

"Sam Houston State's 2,000-plus allotment of NCAA Championship football game tickets for the general public has sold out".

If 4,000 alloted only means "2,000-plus" for the "general public" because of friends and family of the program getting first dibs then I'm really nervous.

No. the other 2,000 are going to season ticket holders. either 4 tickets per holder or the number the bought for the regular season. THAT MAKES SO MUCH MORE SENSE THAN UP TO 25!?!

I am in the low 900s and I got six for the Gopher game as well. I am not overly concerned. There will be a lot that will not buy tickets and a lot that have already purchased them on their own. If I don't get them, I will go stubhub. I am concerned though, if everyone buys 20-25. At that pace, a lot of people will be shafted!

I will do what it takes to get tickets to the game (except what TAB proposes-gross). However, I want to sit amongst the Bison faithful with my family.

I am fortunate that I will get tickets, but has anyone else complained that allowing people to get/take 25 tickets seems a bit much? If a wealthy booster has two season tickets, he can buy 25 and take care of all of his buddies that suddenly want to go to the biggest game in our D1 history?

My personal opinion is that you should be able to buy 2 times the # of season tickets that you have. Just my feeling. Again, I will get in but I feel bad that this is suddenly the top 2% of teammakers based on points will get their request granted. I have heard alot of stories today about how people are piling in groups and getting their requests. So, PL is going to just buy a ton....and help our random people he doesn't know on Bisonville, thus knocking off others that are top 2% people based on priority points for what they have done over their lifetime in Bison athletics.

If nothing else, this probably brings up a discussion. Regardless, Sam Houston is going to have more fans there because of this gong show, and we better damn well make it feel like a Bison HOME GAME.

I'm trying to remain patient and optimistic about tickets being available later this week. It's tough, but I think after Friday, many of us will know a lot more about where we stand. Dad and I are planning on driving a van down. Leaving Thursday night at Midnight and returning Sunday night at Midnight. Got about 5 people in the vehicle and could possibly add a few more, to help with gas costs. I'll have more info as soon as we have finalized plans. I agree the way the ticket situation is handled is stupid...I as a Season ticket holder for the past 10 years should be able to get atleast a couple of the NDSU tickets but i just figured the hell with it.

I just burned 100,000 miles for flights to DFW with 2 connections with no tickets in hand. I am hoping to get tickets through a teammaker friend who is in the top 2%. Am I dumb? Flights kept going up in price even from Sioux Falls!

From MSP too....get the flights lined up and they go up like $300 in 30 minutes when ready to check out

Flying American out of Sioux Falls. Locked in my price yesterday without completely committing as a couple things were still in the air. Good thing I did so, looks like tickets doubled/tripled over the last 24 hours. Booked mine at about 400 a piece direct from Sioux Falls to Dallas/Fort Worth. Anyone else taking a 12:15 flight out of Sioux Falls on Friday?

My flight is booked, flying out of MSP Friday on American and will be touching down at DFW at 11:15 am. Waiting on tickets, but that will work itself out. Staying in Allen about 15 minutes from the stadium, this weekend can't come soon enough. Also, if tickets work out, I hear plans are in place for Rollin' Thunder to make the trek down to Big D.
