Nope, not a Jim Rome reference.
Just bored and trying to make time go by til the game(s)

If you could clone one former Bison player and have him ready for this game, who would it be?

My vote: Jimmy Dick

Ken Clark, we will need a FS that can fly up and stick for this game.

The defense might have a longer row to hoe this weekend so I'll old school with Steve Nelson, one of only six players to have his number retired by the New England Patriots. If I picked someone I can remember watching, it would by Tryone Braxton.

For offense, I'd pick Jeff Bentrim.

Phil Hansen to destroy GSU's QB each play. By the 2nd qtr he'd think twice about turning up the field to run.

Bentrim
Simdorn
Walker

They all had it. Supreme confidence and the ability to always make the right decision.

Hopefully after this season we can add the name Jensen.

Offense: That's easy... Heckendorf!
Defense is tougher: Craig Dahl, Steve Nelson, or Phil Hansen

The kicking game is key...I'd go with Ludwig Millfors

Defense:Ramon Humber or Mike Shepherd, both are great athletes who would do well against the option.

Offense:Travis White, still think he is the greatest receiver ever to wear green and gold.

The 1986 D!!

Because they saw the option a few times or personnel or both? Who from the current defense would start for the 86 team?

Gotta name two...Steve Nelson & Casey Bradley. They were both great leaders and players. Bradley was obviously the defensive leader during his time as a Bison.

We saw the option constantly and shut our own O down consistently. Personnel is comparable and most of our current players would be right there. Hard to compare. 6 players from that D went on to the pros in one form or another.

Gotta be Steve Nelson. The most successful Bison player in the NFL.

I'd say we need another Charlie Stock, but leave him at home for the tailgate. One is enough trouble as-is.

We need a receiver bad so it would be Heckendorf. I also would want Gratzek back to shut down the dive play.

Three very good choices, I agree totally. Two names I personally like also, although they never had a chance to prove their ability to win in the clutch due to the transition are, Tyler Roehl and Steve Walker!!

No offense to anyone but I find this thread disrespectful to the current team. I know it wasn't necessarily started with that purpose. We've always had great players come through here and it would be nice to have them for a big game like this. Just one example, to bring Tyler Roehl up would probably mean DJ on the bench, who has done absolutely everything the Bison have asked him to do (remember LB days). Or at the very least split carries and then Ojuri wouldn't see the field. You can go up and down the list and find many individuals who have done everything they can do to help the BISON get into this position. Drago is another good example. But then Voit wouldn't have ever had a chance to see the field the way he has. That kid giving up his dream of carrying the football for the Bison just so he can punt is another great example of an athlete doing whatever is best for the TEAM.

This TEAM has earned the chance to hang their own banner and I look forward to them trying to do just that.

Looking at this from a practical standpoint, one must look at areas where we are thin- that being WR. Due to injuries we were depleted, even though Wahlo and others have stepped up. But Warren can't do it all and Smitty is getting healthier by the day. So the question is, do we go with a possession receiver or one with breakaway speed?

Lining up Warren wide with Ryan in the slot has been very effective. However, just imagine if we had another formidable receiver on the other end. You have many to choose from: Stacey Robinson, Len Kretchman, T.R. McDonald, or Kole Heckendorf. I'd take any of these four.
