BILLINGS - After a week of Montana football fans bombarding ESPN with calls and emails, and Montana's congressional delegation putting pressure on the sports mega-giant, the network has decided to air the University of Montana and Montana State football playoff games on television.

The second round playoff games will air via ESPN GamePlan, a pay-per-view network, on Saturday December 3rd.

The week long dispute over how Montanan's would be able to watch the Cats and Griz play on Saturday went to the top of the company with broadcast rights for the games.

The news about the games airing broke via email entitled: BAUCUS, TESTER SECURE COMMITMENT FROM ESPN TO AIR NCAA FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS ON CABLE TELEVISION

"The Cats and the Griz bring such a strong tradition to our communities. I'm thrilled ESPN understands this is the right thing for Montana, and am proud of all the Montanans who came together in support of our Montana teams," Baucus said.

That is the question.. Is it JUST on Gameplan? If that is the case I think we are in a worse spot. If it is on both ESPN3 & Gameplan, then we are heading in the right direction. The more options people have at viewing these games, the better.

the object was to get it on espnu or statewide nbc. Gameplan is like the NFL Sunday ticket for college. Its 75 per year or per event. It has a ton of subscribers like the NFL ticket and bars all over have it. Its not the best but better. Probably a downgrade from last year. Combined with espn3 its decent.

If it is like in year's past - You will get ALL ESPN games on that weekend - football and basketball. I've watched JMU playoff games in past years through this.

Production values will be the same as what you saw last weekend with JMU/EKU - still good. Usual ESPN graphics (might be no 1st down graphic, though), play-by-play and color announcers (no-names who probably won't know I-AA football).

Those that get ESPN3 can still watch it for free, but those that don't (or any bars that want a good, clear signal) can use GamePlan (which they probably already subscribe to).

Does ESPN3 offer games from the GamePlan and/or FullCourt subscription packages?

All GamePlan college football games and FullCourt college basketball games are now free through ESPN3 to fans who subscribe to a participating broadband internet service provider.

The college football and basketball lineup on ESPN3 includes exclusive games, simulcasts of ESPN and ESPN2 games and many regional games from around the country. That's more than 300 live college football games and more than 1000 live college basketball games this season.

Click here to find out more on how you can request access to ESPN3.

If it's on gameplan it's on ESPN3 if your ISP provides ESPN3 you're good! It's in the FAQ's here (http://espn.go.com/espn3/faq#6). So stop your complaining and get to the game!

http://www.gobison.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=2400&ATCLID=205340160

The way it worked last year, you could buy a single Saturday of games on Dish for $10. I'm not sure if that has gone up that dramatically to $16 or $25. Anyway, it allowed you to see 10-15 different games that day. I purchased GamePlan in August this year for $125 from Dish and have had available a ton of games every Saturday.

BTW, I know there were a lot of Bison fans that got on ESPN's case as well as Montana people. One of the things I hit ESPN with was the fact that I bought GamePlan this year to be able to watch games all season but primarily to be able to watch all the FCS playoff games. I told them that going to ESPN3 only was a step backwards in coverage of the FCS playoff games. They sent back a couple of standard emails that they would pass the info on to proper people but I thought it would go nowhere. So, this is great news.

How do we know that it was the MT fans who got ALL of the games on gameplan? I think ESPN had it in mind all along. Now everyone will have to pay for it. Its all about the money. Many games dont get scheduled for tv until the last week. Especially the smaller schools.
