UNI #2...wow...they really earned it. (sarcasm)

Guess head-to-head means almost nothing to these geniuses.

Thanks for the post.

Not to mention it took them double overtime to beat ISUr by 3. culminated with head to head and a 2 loss record.

NDSU did get more firstplace votes than UNI though.

UNI is a very, very good team. So are we. There are 4 or 5 teams that can win this whole thing and you have to include UNI and us on that list. This 2 week period will be very good for us...need to get some guys some rest.

I don't think we'll be a #4 but this would be OK otherwise....

I would much rather be ranked #4 and seeded #2, than the other way around.

Two things. 1. SCOREBOARD 27-19. 2. NDSU #2. UNI not ranked.

I actually watched the end of this game and the Bison game at the same time. ISUr blew it! They had the game won...and let UNI back in. Plus...not sure if anyone else saw it but rennie got hit pretty hard on a couple plays before the end of regulation. He got up almost looking "woozy".

This just goes to show that so much is in the eye of the beholder. Did you not see the blown call that took away a clear UNI touchdown pass right before regulation ended? I wouldn't say that ISU blew it, they were only in it at all because the refs took away a clear touchdown. Otherwise, it was gutty win by the Panthers.

Re the rankings, there is not a big difference between #2 and #4. The Bison beat the Panthers at home, naturally that factors into it (the rankings). I agree with the earlier poster who said that both teams are very good. An NDSU fan will say look at the head-to-head, the Bison are better; a Panther fan will say it was at your place, our team was beat up, etc. That debate really fades in importance now. At this point in the season, it's really not about who is better unless the two teams end up meeting in the playoffs. It's about who is the best. In a month and a half we will know. It probably will be neither NDSU nor UNI, but we'll see.

Yea it really has been. TSN has been 2nd closest in my mind. Both polls have over 100 people that vote, compared to the 30 some that vote for the Coaches poll. In my mind that is why that poll is so inconsistent. 2 bad ballots and it throws the whole poll off. Not the same for AGS and TSN.

A man would accept that they got beat and look forward to the next time they meet.

Yep...I stand by my original statement. ISUr scored with 2:55 left on the clock. They then let UNI who they had been holding in check all day, march down the field and score and ended up losing. to me...thats the definition of "blowing it"

I do agree with your assessment of the blown call.

As for your assessment that a Panther fan will make excuses and bitch and moan after the loss to NDSU, I would have to say I generally agree with that as well. That attitude starts with Farley. Glad that's not the NDSU way. NDSU beat UNI. Period.

The Panthers kicked our ass the three of the last four games but we got them the last game. We dominated the trenches in that game. I'm tired of listening to the excuses, it's not like every team doesn't have injuries they need to overcome.

Polls mean nothing. We control our own destiny and that's all that matters. The end of season poll is what counts

So, by UNI fans logic, away games don't count because they were on the road and you can't ever REALLY tell who's better because it's on someone's home turf? Is it an unfair advantage then? This sounds very UNI to me. If this is the case then NO regular season game counts because, and this is key...there is always one home team and one away team. I actually think this is how it works in basketball and baseball too. Will someone look this up for me so I know for sure? The thought process is...well...priceless, because it means we won, and the losers make excuses. We were better on October 29th. The End.

I would guess at least 10 of the 20 playoff teams have a legit chance to win it all. Almost every team is really good so mistakes are even harder to overcome. I just wish we could have had the chance to play both Montana schools in the dome this year.
