The sooner we get these tickets on sale the better

My guess is Monday....how fast are tickets going to go?

It SHOULD be at least close to sold-out, since it's not on Thanksgiving weekend.

All non student tickets will go for sure...Will be interesting to see how student tickets go as the students have to pay for them now. I know the alumni center bought a chunk last year and gave them out in the union. Will see what happens...

As I posted before...if anyone is not going to use their season tix...let me know if we can work something out. I plan on coming up for the first game.

If the following things happen:

1) We get seeded at least #2
2) We win our first two playoff games

I WILL BE at the semifinal game at the Dome.

Of course, it's asking a lot for #2 to happen.

That is the big question and it's hard to speculate. It will definitely better than last year because the students won't be on Thanksgiving break this time. Should be 3/4 full AT LEAST.

HoopsBison

Not saying this should happen but since playoff home games are rare thus far at the dome do the Students still get the 4k seat capacity or does that number go down now that he have to pay for them???

So the students get a said amount of time and once the deadline passes they go to the general public. Also are they going to put the vistor section right next to the student section again???

From my memory I remember getting a "student" ticket last year for $7/8. And sat in the student section as it was the same policy as the regular season.

I wouldn't be too surprised if a local business bought some tickets this season for student disbursement. Last year the Alumni Association partnered with Smash Burger and gave away a bunch, and that was with a week's notice that we were even in the playoffs, much less where or when we'd play. Prime opportunity for a few weeks now for a local business to hop on board and market themselves to a bunch of college students.

The only question I have is the timeline. Last year we only had 1 weeks notice but this year we have 2 weeks to sell the game out. Also student tickets will probably have to revert back to the old school way of buying an actual ticket.

SELL. OUT. Period, end of story.

If we got 12K last year on the worst weekend of the year with no students and only a week notice. I would imagine we will see a minimum of 15K or a sellout with 2 weeks to get ready. The general public is pumped up about this team right now.

Good point. I just hope they don't extend the season ticket "renewal" deadline too far out. Last year we were able to significantly upgrade our season tickets from 20yrd line nosebleeds to 40 yrd line row 10 or so. We'll try to do the same this year, but we can't do it until the season ticket renewal deadline passes.

Its funny you say that. I sat in a great spot last year. Dramatically better than my normal seats. But I still enjoy siting with all the people in my section.

You need to call the AD administration office by noon on Saturday or they become available to the general public. $15/spot. I don't agree with the policy requiring the purchase of reserved spots for playoff tailgating. The season reserved spots should holdover for the postseason and then only pay $3 when parking. This time we have 2 weeks to prepare, but then might have to do it every week for 2 weeks in a row. Turning around all the transactions in that time is ridiculous. Also many of us purchase as tailgating groups with many spots in one common area. Lots to coordinate between those in the group. Maybe this one time $15 should secure the reserved spot for the entire postseason however number of games.......or maybe make it $20 one time for postseason and call it good. Why does it always have to be a moneymaker?

Its being broadcast on ESPN3 (And locals/statewide i assume). If it were on Espn1/2/U you could bet on a shitty time. But on Espn3 NDSU should dictate when the game is played.

Two reasons. First, the seat count system seems to lag behind the actual numbers. I wonder if it only updates every 15 min or something. Second, if a person clicks a bunch of seats and puts them in their "shopping cart", those seats won't appear to other users for up to 8 minutes even if the original user doesn't purchase them. I ended up with tickets that had been grayed out for a while, but popped back up when they timed out of someone's cart.

I'm going to update my numbers later tonight when all the activity has died down. Those numbers should be more accurate.

Just remember that all season ticket holders get a chance at their seats first. Last year I waited until they had their chance and I got a block of 10 on the 50 yard line. Don't get overly excited about the lack of tickets available until the season ticket holders decide or the corporate seats actually go back to being sold.

11,000 have the CHANCE to be spoken for. All season ticket holders have until Saturday to decide if they are going to reserve them for the next game. Next Monday at 8 am the public will be able to buy those tickets that weren't reserved. Last year I got a group of 10 on the 50 yard line, so there will be very good seats available come Monday morning.

I know this is going to make me sound stupid, but does this mean that 11,000 tickets are already spoken for? Pretend you're explaining this to a grade-schooler, because that's about where my mental capacity is at after two straight days without sleep.
Right now, the tickets available for purchase include everything but the student section and all the season tickets. Because of the way they set up the ticketing software this time, you can actually see how many general admission tickets are remaining. I'm also assuming none of the regular 300 SRO tickets have been sold(safe bet).

Let's do it this way:

all 3,800 student tickets + all season tickets + all tickets purchased since noon + 2,455 tickets still up for grabs = approx 19,200

The 2,455 will continue to drop until next Monday when a bunch of unwanted season tickets will be added. Then it will drop again until Thursday or Friday when the unused student tickets will be added. I'm guessing about that last part, but I bet it will happen because the student tickets for the playoffs are not covered by the activity fee. If there are a bunch of unclaimed student tickets and significant demand from the general public, I bet this is the game where we start selling student tickets as GA. Just a guess, though. If we aren't selling out, however, I doubt it will come up.

edit: Obviously, it took me way too long to post this. I like Tatanka's first response the best. Of course, he does have the most practice with grade schoolers.

They can continue to pick them up until at least next Friday. Unknown what will happen if there are still student tickets left at that point.

NDSU STUDENT TICKETS: Student tickets can be purchased at the Bison Ticket Office during regular office hours or at the Memorial Union Monday, Nov. 21-Wednesday, Nov. 23 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and Monday, Nov. 28-Friday, Dec. 2 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

My suspicion: The seat numbers are there so that the computer can keep track of how many are left. This is done for all games that have GA seating. Normally, an option is selected during setup to hide those seat labels from the user, but it was forgotten this time. Like Tatanka said, just ignore it and sit where you want in any of the GA sections.

I hear ya...I would get now. Everyone seems to think that there will be tons of great seats left behind by corps/season ticket holders. I am of the belief last year was fool's gold. It was Thanksgiving week and decisions needed to be made quickly by many people who are not as passionate about the squad as most on BV. I am sure there will be some great seats available on Monday, I just don't think as many as people think IMHO.

I firmly disagree with this assessment. I think a lot of corporate seats will get dumped and the advantage of waiting is huge. Further, if you strike out on Monday, even in a worst case scenario, there will always be people selling tickets selling somewhere. (Here, ebay, in the West lot, etc.)

Just got my tickets at the BSA. There were like 10 people always in line the whole time I was there. I asked the guy at the booth if a lot of season ticket holders have got their tickets yet and he said a lot have and the phone has been busy non stop all day. This is a good sign especially for a game 11 days away still. If we can get over 18,000 loud crazy fans to this game, it might be the greatest football atmosphere the dome has ever seen.

Why? Are these people Luddites or do they not realize that they have the capability?

A lot of older people don't know how to use computers at all....my mother in law doesn't even know how to text. Plus, there seems to be a lot of confusion over ESPN3, even though it doesn't seem that complicated to me.

So what's with this archaic BS for buying tickets for the playoffs and such? I should be able in one action tell the ticket office to let me purchase a ticket for all possible games and any needed refund be put toward my season tickets for next year. Is there some NCAA bylaw against this?

Same thing goes with Tailgate passes...why should I have to drive up to the damn BSA every week we win?

I hate going up there during the week. What should have taken 5 minutes took 2 hours of being on campus...damn college girls.

Awww, they took away part of my fun. For the moment, you can no longer buy SRO tickets through the website, so I can't update those for now. That last pesky endzone ticket is gone, so that's good. "Unlike past years, ASU students will be admitted to all postseason games at Kidd Brewer Stadium for FREE. Appalachian athletics will cover the costs to allow all ASU students to attend by simply presenting their student ID at the gate on gameday, just like the regular season. Student guest tickets cost $15 and will go on sale on Sunday, Nov. 27."

Sure would be nice if NDSU would do this also. A deep playoff run would easily pay for this every single week.

It will be interesting to see how many seats open up. Honestly, last year with Rober Morris, it was f'ing awesome. I got premo seats by waiting until those tickets released. There are exactly 0 (zero) tickets remaining at this time. All non-student, non-season ticket holder tickets are spoken for.

Monday at 8am will be an epic scramble for whatever tickets remain.

No clue how student ticket sales are going--hopefully they're going well. There's lots of buzz around the game and I have to think most season ticket holders are grabbing their seats. There will be seats available on Monday (interesting to see how many), and probably again later in the week when unused visitor seats are returned... don't know how well either team would travel to Fargo (JMU, 300 or 400 maybe, EKU, just don't see it breaking 200... would love to be wrong).

Doesn't look like the athletic dept didn't give themselves much wiggle room to sell the unused student tickets--student tickets must be claimed by next Friday.

Would be nice to get updates from the athletic department on how sales are going... hint, hint.

ALSO, those that have already reserved their tickets online or via phone, it would be a great idea to go pick up your tickets at will call at the BSA this week... this will avoid the inevitable will call mad rush on game day at the dome...

Interested to find out. We know there are 9,000 season ticket holders and 4,000 student tickets. That means we've sold over 5,000 so far. I would imagine 3/4 will claim their seats or low est 6,000 so were probably at Robert Morris levels right now and that's assuming we've sold zero student tickets. This game should be an easy sellout once people realize its not on TV.

If you are waiting to buy unsold tickets you need to be online ASAP on Monday. the current method gives the highest incentive to buy early vs waiting. What is NDSU charging for student tickets for the playof games? Is that amount typical of othe FCS or FBS schools? Even if only $10 each how much will this reduce student attendance and why? If 4000 students can show up for Homecoming, where is the school pride to pay $10 and cheer your team on in the playoffs. No reason 25% of the student body (1 out of every 4) can't do this.

All that is needed is just slightly over 1 in 4 students to make the decision to support their team in the playoffs and all 4000 students seats would be sold. Is this that difficult?

Singles only in sideline reserved. Still pairs available in endzone reserved but those are north side row Q. Looks like several GA tickets still remain - I was able to reserve 25 with no hassle.

Expect more reserved tickets to become available later this week when JMU releases unused visitor seats. These should be prime seats on the west side right behind the JMU bench--NCAA regs require the home team to provide those seats to the visitors IIRC.

That's absolutely pathetic. You have 3 possible days that NDSU will be hosting a playoff game and the rest of your school year to drink beer. Take that into prospective and get your dam student tickets! Heck I'm sure they can go to tailgating somewhere and get a couple free beers from someone to make it worth it.
