How many teams have ever gone undefeated and won the championship in FCS? Anyone know? I wanted to post this last week, but didnt want to jinx it. Im very superstitious. As I said in another post...maybe we look back on this in the near future as a good thing.

No doubt in my mind this loose was the best thing that happened to this team.

im very superstitious when it comes to the Bison. All this playoff and undefeated talk made me cringe because that is like a slap in the face to the football gods. The more you talk about stuff like that before it happens, the greater chance of a loss in my superstisious mind.

Its not that big of deal, I think GSU may of gone 14-0 or 15-0 at one point.

I'm that superstitious, but all the undefeated talk does tend to ease the intensity and drive late in the season. Teams can become complacent. I hope this game brings a reminder to the team and coaching staff that anyone can win on any night if we don't come to play. Stay hungry and keep pushing!

1989 Georgia Southern and 1996 Marshall are the only FCS teams to finish the season unbeaten and FCS champs.

Thats my whole point. Thanks for researching it.

EWU struggled at times last year and still won it all.

I like our chances. It would have been nicer to pull that out today, even with how well YSU played...but I still like our chances right now. We have a lot going for us.

the correct answer is zero.

the correct answer is zero.

This is technically true.

The FCS is only a few years old.

Let's just hope we fall to 3 or 4 only, take care of business next week and end the year 2 or 3. I say 2 or 3 because Georgia Southern is playing the Tide next week and will probably lose. However, i'm not sure they would bump GSU down too much for losing to Bama.

They should bump GSU down for only having one or two wins vs ranked FCS teams....plus one win vs a non-DI team. Our resume blows GSU away.

People need to focus less on the loss being to Alabama and more on the fact that GSU is going to only have 8 DI wins.

Georgia Southern became the first football team to go 15-0 in 1989. The only reason I remember this is that I followed them closely as they were winning DIAA championships as NDSU was winning DII championships. That particular year NDSU was 'between' championships and I had nothing else to do :(

My take away from this loss is it is better to take 1 loss in the regular season then to take 1 loss in the playoffs. The Bison are far from done for the year they will learn from this week and get better.

I told you....

It is very unlikely for a team to run the table and win the championship without a loss. the odds are against you going into it undefeated.

Shsu fans sitting up by 4mcrue had a sign: how does it feel to lose a game ?

Now they know.

I have no issues with Sam Houston State and I thus, I empathize with their situation. Must feel god awful to lose like that and I feel for them...too bad I feel a lot more for my Bison and I won't lose any sleep over it.
