The NDSU media guide has these for the "Passes Intercepted" records:

Career: 16 (Steve Krumrei)
Season: 8, Frank Esposito
Game: 4, Frank Esposito 1953 v UNI

I just want to make sure that these are "Passes Intercepted by a Defender" because while I know that Krumrei played defense, I thought Frank Esposito played QB. Of course, it was back in the 1950's so he probably played both sides of the ball. Anybody know if he intercepted that many passes?

Pretty sure walker threw like double that in a season... no way that is an offensive record.

Walker? That's surprising (although I do remember the 4 INTs vs. SFA.) Anyway, thanks, you answered my question because I know NDSU's QB threw 5 INTs against Northern Colorado.

Esposito must have been a heckuva DB as well as a QB.

In 07 he threw 10. Not double but still more. Mertens threw 15 in 08

Would have been more, but the coaches quit calling pass plays about half way through the season.
