We'll drop a dozen spots based on the fact that UNI kept it within a touchdown.

With UNDs dramatic last second win via 53 yard field goal over 0-8 Northern Colorado, they may actually make #1

"OK, so... North Dakota beat #2 Northern Iowa?? WOW, they're SHOOTING UP in my poll!! North Dakota barely beat winless Northern Colorado... Wait a minute... State?? Northern Colorado... State... Northern Iowa... Ah screw it, I'll just hand it in as is. I got other important things to do."

Maybe not. Montana State is on a 7 game winning streak. Sam Houston State is undefeated with a win over an FBS team. App. State beat the #1 team in the nation. Maine hasn't lost since week 1. I can't make a case for putting UNI in front of any of those schools.

Getting to #1 is huge. We now have the opportunity to go to the National Championship that goes through the Dome. The problem is, we now have a target on our backs. Everyone wants to beat the #1 team in the nation.

Bye week.
Home game vs low seed at home.
Tough game at home.
Tough game at home on ESPN.
Frisco Texas, mid winter vacation! ESPN of course.
National Champions

Next week vs Indiana State is the next "Biggest game in Bison D1 history! "

At this time 2 years ago, NDSU was 1-7. Half of Bisonville was on suicide watch, it wasn't pretty here. I knew that season would be an abberation, but was still concerned about it. I did not expect #1 and undefeated 2 years removed. I know, I know, polls don't mean bunk, but just want to give respect and credit to the players busting ass on and off season, and coaching doing what they gotta do.

Most important thing: There are three games left and NDSU controls its own destiny completely.

Want a conference championship?
Want to go into the playoffs as the #1 seed?

NDSU can realistically guarantee these things on the field.

Of the three polls that have been posted here so far today actually the coaches poll is closer to Sagarin's predictor rankings than either the AGS or SN poll.

The coaches punished both Northern Iowa and Georgia Southern less for loosing to good teams than either AGS or SN and no coaches voted for Alabama A&M which the computer has the two worst two loss team in AA by a wide margin, while their 6-2 record won them votes from both AGS and SN.

Yes, it is--thank you. My guess is that some of the panel members don't have a clue about what is going on around the rest of the country and just slap a vote up there. Also, it could be that they are asked to change rank, #1 rank, etc., and just either forget to do it, or don't GAS!!

Not all people are as excited about FCS football as we BV'ers are--just sayin!
