This game appeared to be selling better than Lafayette last week. Any idea how student tickets are going? Students made an impact last week. Weather appears to be perfect for tailgating. Anything going on campus this week to get the students fired up?

I'm hoping the "we're playing who?" syndrome is wearing off now that we've been 1-AA for awhile, and the students can just show up without motivating ad campaigns from Scheels.

Well the attendence for the last game was listed at just over 17,000 however I feel that's tickets sold because I don't believe there were 17,000 people there. That being said I already know a whole bunch more people that will be in town for the game this weekend that weren't last weekend and with the students sticking around this game will be around the 18,000 mark I'm thinking. People wanna see what we got before we head down to take on the Goofers.

Tickets sold will exceed 18000. Asses in seats (or standing in front of said seats) will be 16500-17000. Hard to get up for a cupcake, especially one this heavily frosted.

18,000. Student section will be pretty full I think. General Admission should do well too. Just concerned about the season ticket holders..

Should be a decent crowd... let's say 18300.

The crowd was pretty good last week, btw. The GA sections were filled up and the only empty parts I saw were the upper corners of reserved seating. Even the reserved sections had less blue than usual* - plus at least 1/3 of them wore yellow.

* I wonder if that has to do with me facing the pressbox side - maybe the visitor's side had more no-shows?

No, definitely less blue than usual on the east side. I think a lot of people with lake places decided to go to the game because of the not so nice day to be at the lake.

That doesn't look to be the case this week though.

Less than 700 reserved tickets for sale for St Francis.

Yeah its going to be a beauty. I expect to see a similar student turnout, more people in the corners, and less season ticket holders. I expect the crowd to be more into the game early. Everyone seems to be in warm up mode for cheering.

All I know is that the tailgating attendance should be bigger than last week. 86 degrees, sunny, no wind. That would be a nice day at the beach let alone in the west lot. Awesome weather and nobody should be out of town on a long weekend and I would say perfect tailgating weather. Jeramiah weed and lemonades will be flowing at my spot that's for sure. As far as the game attendance I am putting my number at 18,486. Some will leave when the game gets out of hand by I predict a lot will stay to see the backup qb play.

I know a few who bought General Admission last week and go to seats an hour early only to be told they had to move about 15 minutes before kick off. Serveral said it has happened in previous seasons.

Apparently the seating charts at the ticket booth and in the entry listed Row O as the first row for GA. The charts where changed about 20 minutes before game time to Row R.

One guy told me he sat in row Q because it happend last year so he gave them a couple rows cushion. He asked when he bought the ticket and asked the usher before he sat down. He was the first person in the section. The usher who told him Row O was the one who also said he had to move. He isn't happy. He went to guest services and was basically laughed at.

My thoughts are. Why sell GA if you are going to treat the people who buy tickets in this manner. Just sell an assigned seat to every ticket. Once they are gone go with SRO tickets if they want to.

I tried to give my tickets to the guy mentioned above and he didn't want to go. I don't know when he will go back. BTW, he has been going to Bison games since the 70's. Use to buy season tickets, but due to personal reasons isn't able to any longer.

GA was sold out at least 1.5 hours before kickoff(that's when I heard someone get denied - might have been much longer). Student sections were nearly full. Corners were a bit empty on top, but that's why it was 18.3k rather than 18.7k+. West side had a fair number of empty seats in the priority sections, but those seats were paid for so they're included in the total. Maybe 16k-17k actual butts in seats. Got to be at least a thousand more than last week.

Is the west side our side or visitor side? Bison side looked like scattered blue throughout the busy parts of the game. Student attendance looked like it was better than lafayette, The corners on the bison side looked better than lafayette but between the 20's looked a little worse. Those people are standing. From a distance a section can be 1/4 full and if spaced properly it appears to be 100% full. Sitting they tell a better story.

No one has "Blue hair" when standing unless 2 or 3 rows behind them are all vacant. When standing if you can see a blue spot LOADS of people are missing. Especially when you are closer to field level looking upwards at them, even if its only a slight upwards angle.

The attendance was good, but its definitly a tickets sold attendance number.

Keep hearing lots of blue...I have pictures my wife took as well. Didn't see it sat. or in the pics to back up your claims.

Student section was near capacity and only the very top of the corners were empty.

Great crowd, great time and can't wait for UNI!!!!

I agree I didn't see it. Looked to be a very good crowd for a team we expected to stomp. Seats around me were full and everyone was having a good time!!!!! It comes down to money, it always comes down to money and to have that many tickets sold and have good energy in the crowd is a very good level to be at.

Most certainly. Tickets sold is the only thing that matters.

So long as we are not giving away tickets and then counting them in attendance I am very happy with the way our attendance has been going.

Next home game pay attention to right before the band starts to play. You will notice loads of blue spots, now watch the (home sideline) side of the crowd. When the band starts to play and everyone stands up, those blue spots fill in, in less than FIVE seconds, the magic of standing. The attendance was really good, but I don't believe asses in seats was 98.3% capacity at any point during the game. It was pretty close to 90% though. And was a good showing.

If michigan had 90% turnout but sold 100% of tickets there would be around 10,000 people missing. Hardly a capacity crowd... Just saying, we are using a little number to start with so you dont recognize it aswell. I also think the student section side (Visitor sideline) fills in better everygame that I have made it a point to walk all the way around and look.
