In the sports section of the hearld, the sioux received votes. Must be the sports writers poll, I'm not sure. The win against Drake really paid off.

Anyone else really wish we were playing Ga southern? Man that would be fun. It almost feels like pre-season until the 24th.

Just saw it last night and forgot to post. Three coaches didn't vote, but still good to see EWU get all No. 1's.

I've got no problem with EW being #1. They have a tough schedule and if they run the rest out they deserve to be #1. I would be very impressed and a little surprised, but anything is possible.

I am going to laugh my ass off when USD takes them down in Vermillion this weekend. Bank it.

They aren't running any table. Montana St. is coming the EWU, they are fortunate to have this. EWU is going to Montana, Montana is apparently a tough place to win football games even on a down year. I'm hoping both of them take EWU down. Then EWU can sneak in the playoffs, and we can welcome them to the FargoDome.

Apparently you didn't watch them play last weekend v. Washington. They are for real again this year. They should be #1.

Washington is now the PAC 12 equivelent of Minnesota. I wouldn't put too much stock in the Hideous Red Freakshows performance in Seattle.

Really? The beat Syracuse, USC, UCLA, and Nebraska last year. Did they graduate too much of that team? Not saying they are great this year, but they were solid last year. They sure aren't the 1-11 MN team which may have been the worst BCS team that year.

do you think air force is better than washington? it aint hat big of a gap and probably a pick em, but ewu lost by less points to washington than sd did to af.

Haha, it's all good. When I looked at the original win, I couldn't remember much about Washington from last year...I knew they weren't great, but couldn't remember specifics. I just happened to have my brain wake up to post in this thread...you just happened to get the "wrath" haha.

It's really tough to play the "we beat them by 10 and they only beat them by 1" game with football. Football isn't scored in a linear way and even if it were every game is different, even when both teams are the same.

well thats whats really goin on here.

ewu is a better team than usd. hands down.

to "bank" that usd will beat them is one of the most preposterous things ive ever read

Oh man, this is really a tough day to be on BV.

Washington finished fourth in the PAC 10 last year, Goophers finished dead last.

Explain to us please how that makes them "equivalent". (fixed the spelling for you)

I think he means this year...sans Jake Locker.

Problem is Jake Locker carried that team last year and his stats suffered cuz he tried to do too much. Even if he was the only player they lost it's still not the same Washington team.

It is a tough day. Indiana finished last in the Big Ten last year, as they virtually always do.

To further the Wash vs MN comparison-in the past 10 seasons, MN has gone to bowl games 7 times. Wash has gone to bowl games 3 times in that period. Obviously Locker was a boost for Wash last year, and Brewster was a drag on MN, but in the last 10 years you'd have better luck betting on MN.
