Dominique Williams ran for 180 yards on 26 carries to lead Wagner past St. Francis (Pa.) 38-28 in the Northeast Conference season opener for both teams Saturday.

Williams, who had two touchdowns, scored on a 5-yard run to give the Seahawks a 17-7 lead at halftime.

St. Francis running back Kyle Harbridge paced the Red Flash with 154 yards and two touchdowns — a 2-yard run in the third quarter and a 3-yard run in the fourth — to draw his team within three points of the lead.

But with three minutes left to play, the Seahawks again put the ball in Williams' hands.

The sophomore running back led Wagner on a six-play, 59-yard drive, in which he broke a 28-yard run to put the game out of reach.

Nick Doscher, last year's second leading passer in the NEC, threw for 173 and two touchdowns.

We HAVE to have a passing game to beat U of M. Unless they are jersey garbage.

We need to be decent in the passing game. But if DJ has a Montana St. or USD performance (requires line play), we might be able to sneak away with a win. I don't remember seeing us run a single screen to him or Sam tonight? That was a huge production play for us last season. Maybe they are saving it for Minnesota?(I have a feeeling that I am overthinking this?)

I think U of M's line will be considerably better than MSU's d-line, and deeper. Depth is something we had working in our favor at MSU.

St Francis 3.

I watched the USC/Minny game and wasn't all that impressed with either team. Granted, it's the first game of the year. I didn't think USC tried to run the ball enough. They were definitely pass happy and targeted the Gophers CB, #21 consistently. Woods, the WR from USC, had a monster game tearing up the gophers secondary.
Minny's overhyped starting QB looked like a gopher in the headlights until he went out with an injury. Their 2nd QB, a true freshman, actually looked pretty decent until he threw the game ending INT.

I agree with you.

However, I am very pleased that Gene was able to get a DI game so it is a counter. It could be worse, and Geo Southern put themselves in a bad situation by getting a home game with a non-counter, IMO.

When you play an FBS team, and then a non-DI/non-playoff counter game against lower competition, a team risks not getting the required 7 DI wins to be eligible for the playoffs, as pointed out in another thread.

This article in SN discusses that a bit and lists the teams that are in a tough spot from here on out after losing their FBS game yesterday. Included on that list are Geo Southern, Montana, Montana State, etc.

I'm not sure if matters how much they want to show on tape, we can probably run off tackle for the entire game.....literally. Every RB gets himself about 10-15 carries. I'd humbly predict a 49-0 victory under those circumstances.

Under the more likely circumstances, I'll go with 52-3. (They have soccer lines on their field, they must have a great kicker.)

When I used to coach soccer, there were always two things I hated to hear, we can't win and we can't lose. I hope we don't take this game too lightly. I looked on their web site and saw that in 2009, they played N. Iowa and lost 30-0. Last year, they lost to Cal Poly 41-33. Their last two games with Robert Morris, they have lost 28-0 and 35-14. In fact, overall they are 2-23 against Rob Morris.
They made a real jump in 1993, going from NAIA DIII to NCAA IAA. They have had no one make the pros since 1952 so this is not a program with any real traditions. Their stadium seats 3,500 so it probably didn't take much to set an attendance record for the game in the video.
I looked up the (6'3") 401 pound OL player. It said that he played in 7 games last year so he does get to play. It said that he played basketball in high school and was an all-star at the district. They also have a 372 pound DL player. One probably can assume that neither would be able to play for "who" as they couldn't possibly have any of that crazy speed.

I doubt it.

They lost to Wagner. The Bison will crush this team.

Our 2nd string could beat them.

Just meant that they'd probably pass a lot, not that the Bison wouldn't thunder over them.

For after all...

Way too much respect being shown to this team (same comment I made last game and was right; some morons on AGS were trying to make it sound like a game last week!):

NDSU: 63
Over matched being paid to be beat on folks: 0

Figured that is what you meant.

You're probably right...they will probably throw it quite often on saturday.

56-7, game is effectively over by halftime......their 7 points are scored at garbage time at the end of the 4th quarter.....The "highlights" from the RM game, were just ugly, on both sides......

I called him out on Twitter. His response was that he thought the Red Flash had the potential to score some touchdowns late.

You know, because Lafayette had so much success with that.

Cool. I was stirring the pot.

Coincidence or not?

Reality - TSN Prediction:
NDSU v Robert Morris: (43-17) - (9-21) = 26 + 12 = 38
NDSU v Montana state: (42-17) - (16-30) = 25 + 14 = 39
NDSU v St Francis: (56-3) - (45-31) = 39

That's pretty consistent.
