Hey gang. This is a shameless plug. Read on.

The 2011 Jass Festival is happening this Sunday (Aug. 14). The concert starts at 2:00 and takes place at the Bluestem Center for the Arts in Moorhead. As always the concert is free of charge. We are, however, accepting donations of cleaning supplies to help the flood victims in Minot.

The Jass Festival enters its 17th year of operation and is still going strong.

"The Jass Festival is an annual jazz festival held in the Fargo/Moorhead area each August. The main goal and purpose of the festival is to promote and showcase the immensely talented young jazz musicians in the Red River Valley area. Each August, the Jass musicians form together for two days of intense rehearsals, and on the third day of the festival, present a festival presentation of concerts that are free and open to the public. Each musician and director is put into a real-time professional situation and expected to use their skills and musicianship to produce a professional product during the concert."

Just a quick reminder of the awesome concert today. It's from 2:00 to 5:00-ish. The only cost to attend is the $2 for parking.
