FARGO, N.D. - The North Dakota State University athletics marketing team will be traveling the state of North Dakota beginning Monday. The tour will take them to more than 20 cities on the five-day trip.

The goal of the "Bandwagon Tour" is to meet fans from around the state and distribute materials like yard signs, posters, schedule cards and other promotional items that are sometimes only available in the Fargo metro area.

"Being located on the eastern border, it is sometimes difficult for fans across the state to be involved in our grass-roots marketing push that starts late in the summer," said associate athletic director Troy Goergen, "so we are reaching out across the state to meet our fans."

Follow the progress of the tour on Facebook with daily updates and videos, and listen to The Mighty 790 KFGO and 740 The Fan for call-in reports from the road. Check the itinerary below and be on the lookout for the Bison Bandwagon near your town!

Nice to see they'll be stopping in West Fargo. It is especially difficult to make it all the way to Fargo to get yard signs and swag. Somewhat disappointed that there's not a stop in Grand Forks, even if it's to strategically distribute and pre-deploy some signage.

+++++++++++++++++++ I wonder if they will set up shop at Sonic?

I heard they initially were scheduled to go to GF, but then they heard red peeper was coming to Fargo.

Throw in a Regis coupon for highlights and you've got a deal.

Honestly, yah I'll try to go. I bet Killdeer would up for it.

Wow. I'm impressed. Grassroots level promotions. They have the right idea. Lets use that same approach to get the STUDENTS fired up.

Now we need to get the rest of the rigs to follow and give it a military escort to give it a more "bad ass' feel.

An SD chestbump per city would make a bigger impact, but we're talking actual craters here. We want the fans to make it to the game!

The last facebook update yesterday said they would be in Grafton about 5:30. My son and I got done golfing and back into Langdon about 8:30. Drove around looking for the crew. I can only assume they didn't get here. Boo!!!

Maybe next time.

When the kids and I stopped by they claimed they were still heading to Langdon. No Facebook update last night made me a little suspicious as well.

Pretty cool actually. The kiddos were really excited to get the little sponge NDSU basketballs.

I was wondering how all the Susie fans that they approached at Westside Drive-In were reacting to them?? Yes, we are surrounded by many of them up here, but we are putting up a good fight.:)

By all indications here, it was well done and is generating some excitement for the upcoming season.

Yes we noticed that when we came up there for the Legion baseball tournament. The ticket lady, after taking our money, asked "Why do ALL the Nelson County fans wear Bison stuff?" My brother didn't miss a beat and said "Because we have class."

The ticket lady said "just keep going"...

Way to much Sioux stuff up around there. My wife is from Hoople originally and when we go back there is to much Who stuff. I usually have to make sure I sport some Bison gear.

You sir live in "Hostile" territory:) :) :)

Multiple "Yard Signs" are in my possession. The Bison Bandwagon had a drawing for a "game worn" baseball jersey, and I won it. Does anyone remember a "Humann" that played?
