MVFC will field strong passing attack in 2011

http://www.bisonillustrated.com/s.php?s=665

Football in the midwest has always carried a hard-nosed connotation, spurned on by harsh elements and a down-to-earth upbringing. Bison fans can relate back to the days of Jeff Bentrim's expert execution of the option offense, or more recently the north and south running styles of running backs like Kyle Steffes and Tyler Roehl. Despite the adaptation to a decidedly more finesse-driven system with players like DJ McNorton, NDSU, and with it the Missouri Valley Football Conference, will perhaps always be known for a power-rushing mentality and a smash-mouth attitude on the field.

That mentality, though, makes the influx of skilled quarterbacks in the conference all the more intriguing.

Excellent article Dj...and very well written.

No arguments here...just a comment or two...or three.

I think that the quarterback in this league must control the tempo. Move the sticks consistently, and run the ball very well (as you stated). The 'potential' for a big play is actually more important than making it consistently. The consistency must be in ball control. That...is the MVFC. Stats are very cool...but keeping the 'D' off the field as much as possible is the winning formula...along with minimizing turnovers.

Brock definitely has the big-play arm and can hit his targets. It's the short/medium game where we need him to show up.
