The last 300 meters was a thing of beauty.
Watching the video just before the 600 meter mark I was thinking don't go yet you're starting the turn.....but she just blasted past her before the turn allowing her to run the entire curve in lane 1 and finished like a racehorse!

You're welcome. Not to sound like Lakes, but I did receive a text from Ryun saying that Christine ran a 2:02.77. He followed up with, "I had to tell everyone that knew how fast that was. It was a very short list."

Her little bro said she qualified foe the Olympic trials in Oregon. Good job Christina!

She has qualified for the National Championships! It is not an Olympic year, but the World Track and Field Championships are later this summer. A top three finish at nationals could get her to the World Championships! Congratulations to Christine on a great accomplishment!

Those girls were pace setters. There aren't many meets that they are used/allowed.

Holy cow and she ran in lane 2 for the most of the first lap. Outstanding job. Appears to me she can run even faster.

I am not very familiar with track, why do you have pace setters?

Well, take the 800m, there's a target lap time they want to hit for the first lap and the pace setters are supposed to hit that target. In this case, I suppose they were aiming fora pace at this meet designed to get people to qualify for the USATF championships.

Sometimes they also provide the important benefit of blocking the wind.

In really long races, like marathons, they help the casual runner keep to a certain x minute mile pace.
