UPDATED 9/23. Tickets are still available to the game at the Gopher Box Office! Visit Gophersports.com https://www.mygophersports.com/Online/default.asp or call 1-800-U-GOPHER or 612-624-8080 Tickets are $50. There will be a TON of tickets available from scalpers. Stub Hub is a bad idea at this point unless you can find some with a "PRINT YOUR TICKETS OPTION" or a pickup spot in Minneapolis. Ticket King has a local pickup spot in the Twin Cities. http://www.ticketkingonline.com/ Call them at or call 1800-396-7328 or local 651-436-1120. Check Craigslist in Minneapolis or Fargo. Tons available http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/tix/ http://fargo.craigslist.org/tia/

Scalpers will be selling them outside the stadium. Look for a sign that says "Want to buy tickets" or "Tickets for sale." Bring cash. Scalpers don't take credit cards. You can also take a party bus but time is running out. See below.

These ticket broker websites allow you to pick the tickets up at a store in Minneapolis or St Paul... may be your best bet

**WHERE DO I GET TICKETS??**

1) Gopher Ticket office. About 1000 remain. Grab them FAST! Start at $50. Visit Gophersports.com https://www.mygophersports.com or call 1-800-U-GOPHER or 612-624-8080

2) PARTY BUSSES- Sept 22-24, 2011
Mike Schmitz, the party bus dude claims to have 80 tickets. Mike@midwestsportstours.com 701-527-7868
Leaves Bismarck & stops in Fargo. Price includes ticket, hotel, and tailgating. $249-289 per person. If you bought tickets they have a transportation package too
[url]http://www.midwestsportstours.com/deposits/index.php#event3 EMAIL mike@midwestsportstours.com for details.

OTHER SITE: Other site: http://www.bisonminnesota.com

Note: if you want a bus for TRANSPORTATION ONLY email b27reader@lycos.mail

3) Craigslist or classified. Better option since no shipping required for local orders.
Fargo - http://fargo.craigslist.org/tia/
Minneapolis - http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/tia/

4) Scalpers. Guaranteed to find from scalpers. All these left over seats will be available outside of TCF bank stadium. They usually hold signs that say "want tickets." Bring cash and a map so you can see where they are.

5) STUBHUB or 3rd party Ticket Brokers. Make sure it gives your a "PRINT YOUR TICKETS OPTION" or a pickup spot in the Twin Cities. Shipping is impossible since the game is tomorrow/today. Many Gopher season ticket holders are selling their tickets on these sites so they are better seats. There are many available for sale on multiple sites. Prices range from face value ($50) to $350. You can order groups of 25, front row, 50 yard line, or cheap seats! Here are some of the sites.

BEWARE: Not enough time to ship!! PRINT ONLY or retail pick up delivery option!! Ticket King is local to minneapolis...

This is the only ones I would use and that's if you pick them up at a store in Minneapolis...

Then take a left. See more details below. This is by far your best bet. Jeff Kolpack said parking is a "big time challenge" and this has a shuttle bus.

This is the official "How To Get Bison-Gopher Ticket" thread. I pulled most of the info out of other threads. Tickets will be tougher to come by since TCF Bank Stadium is much smaller than the Metrodome and much of the stadium is season tickets, but you can still go if you want to go.

Sally's is not downtown MPLS. Sally's is basically 2 blocks away from the stadium and 2 mins from the Radisson hotel on campus. The tent takes up the entire parking lot and it looks like a lot of fun and a lot of opportunity for a BISON take over especially for fans staying in the hotel across the street.

NOTE - Washington Ave will be CLOSED during the next three years. For those of you that didn't know, this is something to consider when deciding on how to travel to the game. The city is currently in the process of building a light-rail through campus and construction will be heavy.

If you want any other detailed information on gameday experience at TCF let me know. Just finished my first year at the U and believe me, I will be in my old Kyle Steffes jersey in the student section come september 24th. GO BISON!

Stay somewhere downtown. Graves is an excellent choice. The victory party will probably be at gluecks or some other establishment downtown like last time. Your hotel might as well be within walking distance at the end of the night.

I'd rather cab it to the game in the morning when I'm sober, than later in the day. Ran into some ndsu alum at Toby keiths bar in slp, and we were talking about the game and now I'm super excited for this game. Every available extra ticket will be purchased by bison fans. Gonna be a great weekend.

Btw, do they know the game time yet. I have a wedding to go to in Duluth on Friday night. I'm still trying to figure out how to convince the wife that we need to be tailgating as soon as possible for this one. She doesn't get it. Women.

I would personally bank on a 11am start especially since it'll most likely be on B1G Network. I think the gophers had maybe 1 or 2 home games not start at 11 out of 7 home games

I got married during the bye week in '08 and spent the next week in Cancun, where I watched the Web cast of the Bison at Missouri State...My wife planned it that way, which was awesome...It pissed off some dear hunters in our family, but I could care less, haha.

I did have to miss a home game in '09 due to the birth of my daughter, but if there was a year to do that, it was then.

If you want to guarantee seats go onto stub hub right now. You can get seats in groups of 8 in some pretty darn good sections for under 90 each. But there are not many large groups left anywhere so I would grab them. 9 is even tougher than 8. Try these https://tickettransaction2.com/Checkout.aspx?e=%7EYn%7EJva2%7EVya%7EW%7EQ9%7EN%7E D%7EYw%7EJn%7ENpd%7EG%7EVud%7EW1i%7EZ%7EX%7EI9%7EN %7ES%7EZ0%7EZ2lk%7EP%7ETk4%7EO%7ED%7EUy%7EM%7ET%7E U2%7EN%7EC%7EZldn%7ERp%7EZ%7ED0x%7EN%7ET%7EI2%7EMz %7EA0%7EJn%7EBya%7EW%7ENl%7EP%7ETky%7EJm%7EN1cn%7E Jlbm%7EN5a%7EW%7EQ9%7EM%7EQ..%219uwo%7ER%7EY%7EQ%7 EE%7EF%7ED4.&treq=23&wcid=2996&SessionId=dqPCS

STUB HUB has a group of 9 for only $62. All seats are good so section doesn't matter all that much.

If your willing to wait until july 22, they will release an estimated 5-7k seats but you probably need to order them the day they go on sale because they will sell out quickly.

Or if you want to spend a few bucks and ride in luxury, take the bus trip to Minneapolis in this thread. Includes bus ride, hotel, and tickets. Seats should all be together for the entire bus but check first. mike@midwestsportstours.com website http://www.midwestsportstours.com/deposits/index.php#event3

The depot is a great hotel. We stay there quite often just to take the kids to the water park.

If anyone is ever looking for a good deal at the Marriott/Depot in Minneapolis click on the company code and enter in TGT. You'll get the target employee rate and they never ask for proof of employment. This actually works for all nationwide Marriots. All you have to do is use the stock ticker symbol for a company that either has it's headquarters or a large presence in that area. For instance I had to go to Philadelphia for a training seminar. SAP told me to use their code at the marriot, which was SAP, and I got their corporate code. It got me thinking so I tried out some different codes and I figured out their setup. For the marriots in the Twin Cities I use either 3M (MMM) or TGT. Wells Fargo (WFC) works in a variety of different metro area including Chicago, which is weird because they don't even have a presence there or at least they didn't when I used it.

This. We always used my dad's corporate rates without issue. We stopped using them when one hotel question our usage. It was weird.

Luckily I haven't run into any problems. But I also don't stay at hotels all that often either. I suppose if I'd every get called out on it I'd say, "what the hell? it's not like I travel around with my employee badge!" Either way it's a easy way to save some bucks while staying at some nice hotels.

There are less than 300 on stub hub and most are over $55. Your best bet is to wait until July 22 and buy them at face value, $50. But be sure you order them online right at 5face because they will sell quickly. I think there are only 4k or less to order.

If you don't want to risk missing out, buy them on stub hub.

But yellow is intimidating to the opposing team

I don't think anyone has ever said the actual color yellow is intimidating. Its been said that an entire section of unified Bison fans wearing the same gear looks intimidating. Intimidating is probably a stretch but it looks pretty cool. Every other school on the planet does it. Except for UND because nobody goes to their games.

Since it's a road game I highly doubt it matters but green is the best choice.

But let's not derail the thread!

This is the official "How To Get Bison-Gopher Tickets" thread. I've also included info on tailgating, lodging, & anything game related. I hope it helps!

Compared to '07, tickets will be harder to come by since TCF is smaller than the dome & much of the stadium is season tickets. You need to PLAN AHEAD! Help us rock TCF Bank Stadium like we did in 06 and 07! We wont get a crack at the Gophers for another 5 or 6 years!

Suggest buying seats on Stub Hub in sections 101, 103, 105, 115, 117 and it will form a bowl of Bison fans in the upper & lower deck. Many Bisonvillers have purchased seats there.

WHERE DO I GET TICKETS??

NDSU TICKETS are sold out If you didnt get any dont worry there are tons of other options. Read below. The sold out sections are 201-206 and 215-218.

1) Gophers single game tickets go on sale ONLINE July 22nd at 5pm at http://www.gophersports.com They are $50 each. Web only! If they dont sell out in the 1st 3 days, they can be ordered by phone on July 25th @ 9am! The number is 1-800-U-GOPHER. They will probably be sold out by then. Be in front of your computer and have your card ready on the 22nd. Most of these tickets will be bought by Bison fans.https://www.mygophersports.com/Online/default.asp?doWork::WScontent::loadArticle=Load&BOparam::WScontent::loadArticle::article_id=965DAB C0-F8CF-44FD-94C8-009A45A1E99E

2) ORDER THEM NOW on 3rd party sites like Stub Hub. (Very legit bought tickets from them before) Many Gopher season ticket holders are selling their tickets for this game as well as parking passes for tailgating. There are many available for sale on multiple sites. All seats at TCF are good but these are the best. Prices range from face value ($50) to $350. You can order groups of 25, front row, 50 yard line, or cheap seats! Tons of options but get them now before they are gone. Here are some of the sites. (If you ordered already please post your section and quantity in this thread so other fans can sit near other Bison fans and rock the section.

Not sure, but I believe fansnap has lots of duplicates too. The same seats are shown multiple times by several brokers. Actually the total available on stubhub went down from over 400 to 243 in the past day or two......likely because of people buying through brokers since there were issues purchasing thru Gopher ticket office. Soon the only tickets left will be over-priced. Get them now or be willing to pay well over $100 a ticket. Or take your chances with scalpers on game day.

Yeah I'm glad we had enough points to get ours. At least the spendly tickets are great seats. I may pony up 125 bucks and sit on the 40 and sell mine.

We ponied up and sat on the 50 7-10 rows up behind our bench for the last one and enjoyed every penny spent.

May have to pony up this year but it will be a last minute thing.

Its worth it. This game happens once every 5 years and well never forget it! Its an event! I know I've posted this before but this site is by far the best. Youngstown can get pairs below the official Bison section for only $125 in the lower deck.

The number of tickets on stubhub went down to nearly 100 available earlier this week and now is back up to 259. Selling prices start at $115 (except one seat at $90). Seems Gopher fans became aware of the demand and are starting to offer up their seats......at now much higher prices. Just a couple weeks ago there were at least 100 tickets available between $60 and $90 each.

Any suggestions?

No recommendations? Now that I think about it, I don't need a shuttle. Since my daughter turns 21 the week before, we'll probably have to make a trip to my former employer (Chub's) for "one". So, just close to interstate and reasonable.

Which brings me to another question -- how difficult is it to get a cab in Fargo at 1:30-ish a.m.?

Getting a cab on a Friday night is tough to come by. Depends where you are leaving from and what part of town. If you stand outside waiting for one that you called and you jump right in before all the other's try doing the same then you may be ok. Downtown area is tough to get.

It is amazing how many goof fans think Bison fans will pay well over $100 for tickets to this game (almost all the tickets for sale on stubhub are over $100 each plus fees). I am sure a few Bison fans will pay this price, but unless the prices come down a bit these tickets will never sell.
Waitin for the goof fans to call Bison fans smalltime because they are unwilling to pay huge prices like other FBS teams fans will......but then again according to goofer fans NDSU's fans are not on the same level. I could care less since it will be great for the mighty Bison to kick the lowly Gophers on their ass again. Then we will see whose fan base is on the lower level.

Growing up just north of the F-M area I do have an interest in Bison football. That said, as a UofM graduate and someone who understands the dynamics of supply and demand, I fear my Bison friends are going to be forced out of their ticket price comfort zones. TCF is a lot smaller than the Metrodome, and you guys love to go to Minneapolis.

The ticket market for this game is nothing like what is was in 2007 or even in ISU or KU and fans who ignore that fact will find themselves on the outside looking in. In fact, fans who want to go to this game and have gone to the dome games will find themselves on the outside looking in unless they really want to spend some dough on it.

Depends on what you are using as your criteria. For the most part, I buy your recommendation for St. Paul and Mpls while maintaining that there are selling criteria that favor Fargo in this comparison. But I don't see the Eden Prairie recommendation unless you are focused on HS athletics and distance to the big cities. I would take Maple Grove over Eden Prairie - especially with the growth that has taken place in the NW Metro.

And to me, the ultimate is a home on a lake between 45 and 100 miles from Fargo.

300 isnt out of the ordinary for two tickets to many games. Depending on where the seats are the person could very well have almost 300.00 in them for two tickets. 60.00 each=120.00 Then you have your seat donation which will vary on location and donor level.

ill name 3 cities in the metro that are better than fargo

minneapolis

st paul

eden prairie

the rest. fargo shits on. but the rest take credit for living by those 3 so therefor, they think theyre better than they actually are

I may as well join into the this off-topic tangent since I've lived in all of the 3 cities you mention as well as in Fargo and a few other MSP burbs.

I disagree that EP is better than Fargo on the surface. I guess if you can buy a 7+ figure house and live near Adrian Peterson or whoever it is great, but for the average EP resident living there is not any different than living in Maple Grove, Chanhassen, Plymouth, Minnetonka, Apple Valley, Lakeville, parts of Bloomington, Eagan, Inver Grove Heights, Woodbury, Stillwater and probably a few other nice burbs that I'm missing. Same Target/Best Buy to shop in, same gaggle of chain retail shops/eateries which make life so convenient, same movies in the multiplex, and generally the same kind of people. And living in these places (the few I've lived in) is just like living in Fargo. What puts these places ahead of Fargo for many is their proximity to the larger cities and all that they offer. The one thing different about nice parts of Fargo and nice MSP suburbs is that from these places I can easily go to MLB game or whatever it is about large cities that floats each person's boat. Obviously the nice thing in Fargo is I am always 10 minutes from anywhere, I have no real idea what a traffic nightmare is, and a similar house with similar proximity to amenities is a lot cheaper.

The thing that drives me insane about these online debates is that people act as though they have made THE correct decision about where to live and that it is some sort of zero sum game where either you have completed or failed your life based on where you choose to settle.

MNLonghorn10
08-18-2011, 01:42 PM
oh well then its settled. fargo>any burb in minneapolis. :)

and yes, these debates are f'n dumb. i can be to the 694/494 split in maple grove in like 2.5 hrs, so its not like id have to pack the rv, every set of clothing, and do whatever to make that such long journey to the big city that us fargoans just love to go to.

I agree. Would I pay $150 per ticket? Yes. But I am a bigger than normal fan and I can afford it. The average Joe cannot afford $300 for 2 people, not to mention hotel and travel costs. Were talking a $600 weekend for 2. The scalpers are flat out being greedy and they better drop the price or there are going to be quite a few empty seats at a sold out game. I predict 6-7k Bison fans. Not enough for home field advantage but enough to make a difference. NDSU received 3k to sell and already purchased 2k.

Here is the real double-edged sword with the supply-demand for this game. The kind of people who you call "bigger than normal fans" who would pay the 150 per ticket in all liklihood have secured face-value tickets because of their status as bigger than normal fans. So it is the fans who like the team and would like to go who are asked to pay 150, while the fans who love and breath the team who have snatched up the tix for 50.

If you waited for this game, you are going to be stuck paying higher than normal prices...unless you wait until right before game time, but that can be a gamble. We got our front row for right around $100 after fees and everything. Nothing to complain about there, gotta pay to play in the front row and I thought it was reasonable considering I paid ~$80 for the last game.

++ I paid the same per ticket for 8 front row seats in a row as well (other side of the stadium so they'll hear it from both sides). No complaints whatsoever. Could have gotten tickets in the upper deck for much cheaper but if you're in for $70-80 you might as well be in for $100 and sit front row.

There are currently 1349 tickets listed on Fansnap. Highest priced ticket $987. $1086 after stub hub fees.

Section 221 row 45.

Somebody better grab it while it's hot:D
Since fansnap shows all companies selling tickets there is overlap of the same seats being sold by several different companies. If you look at the number available at stubhub (which is most widely used) it is a more accurate count. When I checked the number on Tuesday it was 444. Even if stubhub doesn't offer a few tickets sold by others the grand total would be no more than 500.
By the way, I bought mine through ticketluck.com and they were at least $15 less per ticket including fees than the same ticket from stubhub. I have already received my tickets and even got better seats than what I ordered.

Thanks for the heads up on ticketluck. I will have to try that next time I'm looking for tickets. I had ordered my tickets from gopherfootballtickets.com/ticketking quite a while ago. Probably jumped the gun and paid more than I should have but they're pretty decent seats in section 114.

Thought it was funny that someone was trying to sell a single seat in a non-existent row (45) in section 221 for $987 before fees.

Yeah I'm pleased with the price and the tickets location.

I've seen the stadium from pretty up close and really it's not all that big, I have no doubt that you get a good view regardless where you're sitting.

Anyone who saw a game there would like to chime in?

Sure. I sat with the Ohio State fans in the upper deck top corner last year for a night game and was really pleased with how good the seats were. I don't think there are bad seats because I figured we'd be in bad seats and were not. I've also sat in the lower deck home sideline side. Lower deck is tight to the field and feels really close to the action.

Of course, I am staying at the Days Inn. We are taking over that place. Maybe we should just demand they allow us to tailgate in their parking lot or we all cancel our reservations at 5:59 PM on Friday. 90 percent of the hotel would empty out.
By the way, we are stumbling distance from Sallys and we should take that place over Friday night. In the past when I have been there on a weekend the scenery was fantastic!:judges:

I was told by the University of Minnesota that I could not bring our trailer into any of the donor lots. They basically said only cars are allowed in those lots. I called two different times just to be sure I was getting the correct info and I still don't feel like I ever talked to anybody that was 100% confident in their answer but I decided I didn't want to buy parking passes and not be able to use them. Long story longer, we are staying across the street from the stadium yet have to drive all the way to the fairgrounds to tailgate with our rig. Then take a shuttle back. LAME!

That's what I was afraid of...I was hoping to be able to pull a bunch of people to the actual tailgate lots if we could get a real pass. If the bus makes, it sounds like the fairgrounds is the answer.

We would have changed hotels if I wouldn't have reserved them through hotels.com. Can't cancel. We are staying downtown Sat night after the game since we have to go back to the fairgrounds anyway.
