I heard the Bison were all going to have to run backward to try to keep it close while the throwers and jumpers have to use their non-dominant limb.

Will UND athletes get "participation" ribbons?!

I don't think that UND could beat us with an all-star team from Sioux from the past.

In the words of Paul Allen, "If you think Mike Murdock, Shawn Burian, Jared Bruggeman, Brian Bergantine, and Norm Magee are gonna show up and take care of the Bison, you better think again."

My white roomate beat Norm's ass in the 200 back in the day. I guess Norm tried to play football, but he had "hands" issues.

Odds of somebody getting lapped in the 800?

Maybe NDSU should only get two jumps in the triple.

They will have to get them off the bus to get a ribbon...

It would be fun to go to that. Let's see, I have about 4 hours then to get 8 billable in--got it!!

A required class for lawyers is creative accounting 101. But it's probably a 400 course class at und.

Heh, UND won the women's dual! We're doomed because that is surely one of the signs of The Apocalypse. :)

Possibly splitting the squad for Howard Wood (although I think NDSU only sent three top runners down there: Kurchowski, Schmaltz, and Tingelstad) and not entering anybody in the 100, 200, and 400 had someting to do with it.

BTW, here are the winning times in the 100, 200, 400:

100 m: 12.47 (4th)
200 m: 26.18 (7th)
400 m: 1:00.43 (8th)

The numbers in parentheses show where these times would have fallen at the state Class A high school meet last year.

It's to your credit, Tony, that at least you acknowledged the score of the women's meet, however flawed the score might have been had the top NDSU runners participated.

I'm surprised that NDSU would enter a dual meet (with SDSU or UND in particular) when they wouldn't have their entire team available to avoid misinterpretation of the results

Dual meets aren't a big deal. It is more important to get the proper competition for you athletes so they can qualify for regionals and get to nationals. The only meet that Lars cares about the score is conference. I think that Ryun is the same way.

I can tell you that UND is not doing any victory laps over this dual meet. Track is different than most sports at the college level since scores are not kept most of the time.

Don't schedule a dual meet against a rival in your own state unless you plan on actually competing 100% -- otherwise it is a waste of time in my opinion

They scheduled the meet so the athletes not going to Howard Wood could be able to compete without travelling. So it wasn't a waste of time for those who were able to run.

Don't call it a dual if not all of the best athletes are there. For someone that doesn't have any clue that NDSU has only a portion of its team there, they pick up the paper and see 'UND beats NDSU in dual'. Foolish to bill it as such
