PRIMM, Nev. - Tournament MVP Amy Anderson shot a 1-under-par 70 in the final round to win the Summit League women's golf championship and lead North Dakota State to a fourth-place finish Tuesday, April 19, at the Primm Valley Golf Club.

Anderson, a sophomore from Oxbow, N.D., finished at 6-over 219 and won by three shots over Tiffany Robbins of Oral Roberts. She is the first NDSU women's golfer to win a league championship after finishing second last year.

Anderson was in a three-way tie for first with Robbins and Oakland's Mara Kovac after Monday's first two rounds. Anderson birdied twice, bogeyed once, and got help from Robbins, who bogeyed three of her final six holes. Kovac finished five shots back in third place.

Oral Roberts had four players finish in the top 10 and the Golden Eagles won their 14th consecutive team title and the league's automatic berth in the NCAA regional tournament May 5-7.

ORU led all three rounds and finished with a 911, Western Illinois was second with a 938, Oakland third with a 939, and North Dakota State was fourth with a 947.

They must have had a pretty good final round because (I think) they were in sixth place going into the final day.

I think Amy is good enough to play in the LPGA some day. Winning tournaments helps.
