It's been all rumour until this point, now NKU makes it official.

I would've personally liked to see NKU in the Summit rather than UNO, due to 1) Cincinnati > Omaha 2) AWESOME arena 3) More competative basketball program 4) Bigger potential fan base 5) No football to start out with, no bad taste in fan's mouths regarding losing a football program, and I can think of at least 6-7 other reasons.
But what's done is done, and UNO is in the Summit, and NKU will need a conference invite before they can move. But could the Summit maybe be looking at 12 schools, as an insurance policy against future defections?? If NDSU and SDSU somehow find our way into the Missouri Valley for all sports within the next 10 years, having someone like NKU and maybe Arkansas Little-Rock would be good for remaining Summit schools. Maybe the Summit will become the official entry-level DI conference for DII moveups in the central US. Hopefully by that time we'll be Valley bound, cause I do NOT want to see NDSU (and SDSU) mired in that situation. But I like NKU's program, and their arena that makes me drool like Homer Simpson at a Vegas buffet.
Thoughts??
