It took me around an hour to whip up (I really should've used Photoshop, oh well), and it was through a lot of careful planning around and working with the site that I was able to come up with this.

CABison, you had something there with the idea of a 25,000-seater on the location of Dacotah Field. Here's your vision brought to life, to some extent, at least.

I hope to get started soon on a detailed plan view of this once my 2-week vacation begins.

The indoor track has already been moved to where the South stands are and connected to the SHAC.

What if we promise to call it Sanford Stadium? That guy has to have the biggest combo of deep pockets and vanity in the region. Couldn't he at least will the money to make this happen? That way he can still spend the interest his whole life on having everything else named after him.

Hey, as long as no shovels for the thing have been put in the ground yet (and believe me, with the pace of fundraising right now, I don't see it happening soon), I can still plan this in my mind. :D

TAB makes all kinds of plans in his mind, but lacks the artistic and technical ability to render them in MS Paint and post them on Bisonville. I, for one, am thankful.

Setting aside reality (which I think Bisonator knew he was doing), you have to admit that kind of set-up would be pretty cool. Can you draw a big clear bubble over it, so I don't get snow in my hair at the FB games?

Heck, could you imagine the tailgating havoc that would occur if we had that set-up when we host our homegame for the FB semi-finals at 1pm and then have BB exhibition games at 7pm? Knowing you don't even have to cross a street to get from one game to the next?

A couple of questions:

Where can my helicopter land?

Will there be a sports book?

I think there should also be a giant tank of sharks in one endzone corner and a cage of lions kitty corner.

In somewhat seriousness, the coolest feature I've seen yet at a new stadium is at the new Cowboy stadium. Has anyone seen how the players walk through an all glass tunnel from the locker room to the field? The tunnel goes right through a sports bar at ground level and the players walk right through the bar. Super sweet.

I don't know. It might not be as good as this pipe dream of a stadium from a school that claims to care about their football team. Too bad plans fell through on this. Maybe it was the daunting task of finding the extra 45,000 needed to add to their usual attendance to fill the stadium.

Fantastic! Give the Bison their own stadium on campus. Give our flagship program a state-of-the-art facility where football should be played...outdoors.

The FD started as somebody's dream. Everyone said, "no way." North Dakota State started talking about moving up to DI and most people said, "no way." 10 years ago somebody could have said, "we'll be in the Big Dance' someday if we move up to DI." Most of the answers would have been, "no way. Can't happen here."

There would be people who would stay away because of cold weather...but I also know of people who stay away from the FD on a nice fall afternoon. And I quote: "Why would I want to go sit in that place when I can enjoy being outdoors? It's boring in there."

This would allow the atmosphere created at the tailgate parties into the stadium. It would change the crowd attitude. The crowd would not feel as though they were in pockets...isolated from each other...if built correctly. The dome separates the crowd acoustically and visually.

Thanks TheBisonator. You're not wasting your time. It's called having 'vision.'

No doubt...but the 'progressive thinkers' in Bismarck that dominate the state government are more interested in keeping a name. If you're the person that I think you are...you're on the wrong side...and I'm not talking about NDSU or UND...

The indoor track has already been moved to where the South stands are and connected to the SHAC.
So when did they decide to move the track over to south of the practice field?
Maybe while they are making decisions like that they can look at all the folly in the arena plans and correct mistakes there.

I've said it at least three times: HOLLOWED OUT VOLCANO, PEOPLE.

You could put the stadium in the crater and all the offices with their rotating chairs, giant lasers, brass waterbeds, lights, and sh*t would go below in the hollowed-out volcano's depths. It would be teh chili sauce... plus passive lava heating is very environmentally friendly.

When I look at that all I see is a toilet seat. It makes sense that a Euro-sport is floating around inside of it.

Huh, just got an idea. That could be the teh school up north's new stadium since it fits their new nickname so well. Who needs a retractable roof? They can just drive right in through the hole in teh middle.

It should be more of a bowl, like the Griz stadium. Only two sides of seating sucks. The drawing is good though.

The two sides of seating is due to almost no space behind the endzones, cause of the SHAC on one side and the indoor track facility on the other (I'm not giving up on this idea until I see shovels breaking ground for the new track building on the SOUTH side of the field).

Was that one thumbnail really what some folks up north wanted for a new stadium when they were considering the Alerus as well?

As for us....in ten years or so....IF we continue our success(by that I mean 9 wins on average) and can get super high demand for dome tickets where supply cant meet demand or barely can...then I'd be willing to have NDSU build a new field at Dakotah's site(or somewhere on campus). Holding at most(depending on what we could fill consistently) 25-27,000. I'm just a little bit worried about how many we'd get on ugly weather weekends....the dome has spoiled a lot of people over the last 20 years or so..

Gotta wonder though considering Fargo is really growing fast which should translate to a lot more fans coming every week if we keep putting a good team on the field.

But keep in mind, the Dome still looks really good in there, you can bitch all you want about the lights, and the sound system, and the offensive coordinator ;) but its a great facility and we don't consistently sell it out right now.

I tried to see if I could improve on your original design. I felt it was important to get a BWW on the north and south sides of the stadium. And in the south where the parking is, I felt a liquor store would be nice. For those fans who don't want to tailgate, I put a branch of the Northern Gentlemans club on the north side.

Sell condos! Instead of PSL's for the stadium just require each season ticket holder to purchase their own party-pad condo overlooking the stadium. Obviously part of the monthly association dues for the condos would go towards maintaining the skyway to and from BWW, Northern, etc.

We could scale back the BWW North or ditch it all together and expand the Northern North. Maybe we could then include bench seating or a type of truck stop rest area, with showers and cots so people could crash in the Northern and rest up. Then get a law passes that will allow it to be open 24 hours on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday's.
