Was just looking at some track & field news and saw that the UND women's team broke their school's record in the 800 meter relay with a time of: 1:45.51. Curiously, I looked at the Bison Women's records and the slowest of the 6 best all-time is: 1:44.90.

Below is a side-by-side comparison (Women only) of NDSU's all-time outdoor records compared to UND's. As shown, the Sioux women only own 2 records that are better than the Bison. Further, most of the margins of difference are quite remarkable.

The two events where UND has a better performance are both throwing events. Not too big of a suprise, for years the GF high schools had the best throwers in North Dakota. Some of them had to stay at home. UND has never been even close to having a mens or womans track program on par with NDSU! Our Track and Field teams may be the most consistantly successful of any of our athletic programs! I too am a very proud NDSU Track and Field fan!

I am most certainly not comparing US to them. I sure as hell don't own any records at NDSU.......

But, I am tied with you in all defensive and offensive categories in the all time Bison Baseball record book. But then again, I never played in an actual game for the Herd so I guess I'm comparing APPLES to.................................well, APPLES. Do you like that comparison better??

That's really interesting to look through and thanks for putting that together.

The Sewage track and field programs have always been and always will be complete garbage. In the NCC it was always the Bison and South Dakota as the top two teams. Then Nebraska-Omaha, South Dakota State then Mankato. It would always take awhile to get down to UND.

They just set their school record in the 4x200M at 1:45.5? That wouldn't even make the North Dakota girls high school all-time top 10 (http://www2.bhs.bismarck.k12.nd.us/athletics/bhsboystrack/alltimelist/top10agirls.htm).

State record 1:43.5.
