Just wondering if this is our worst start in D-1? Any body who knows please chime in, also looking at schedule I see a real chance that we have 18 losses by time we play Concordia and UND on our schedule. UH-OH if thats true and we lose to Concordia and UND then its time for some big changes. Im just saying!!!!

arizona is ranked. not sure about lamar and murray state. but these teams have such a huge advantage over northern teams being able to practice outside more than we do

In '05 it was an 0-18-1 start against Air Force, Sacramento State, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri (faced the Detroit Tigers Max Scherzer), and Creighton. First win was the first home game.

Woohoo!

Kind of weird though... even when the Bison win, the Bison lose.

Well I can honestly say I am not surprised at their start. My son was recruited to play baseball up there a year or so ago and we both came away totally unimpressed... nice facilities, etc... but we both got the impression that the coaching staff was pretty impressed with themselves and must have mentioned D1 to us a dozen times during our visit. From watching, I think they belong in the NSIC and probably would compete their fairly strongly, but probably not the best team in it.

Is there a reason they don't play anyone in NSIC???

we played mary three years ago. i would say scheduling conflicts are a big reason

MSCTC-FF is pretty good for NJCAA DIII baseball. former Bison Jarrod Asmus one of the coaches there.

I have an employee who was part of the team a couple years back. He has said some pretty disturbing things about the way the coach is running things. I shrugged it all off at first thinking he was distgruntled but alot of the stuff he has been saying has been confirmed by a current member of the team who is from my hometown and I've known since he was a little kid playing t-ball.

It is very true, I personally know of at least 20 former Bison players from the past 3-4 years or so that really do not like the coach becuase of things he did. Look at it this way he got rid of just about every player he inherited from the former coach before they finished up their careers. A lot of former players really do not care for him. This is bad as it hurts are alumni base.
I would like to see him gone if the season continues to be a disaster like this. The coach needs to go, lets get a good guy and good coach in. HMM maybe ZIM is being groomed to take the spot?

As an uncle of one of the players I can confirm that most the players do not really care for the coach.

billy martin didn't have to recruit players on a yearly basis. the team could really use some help in the recruiting budget so they can go get some kids from tx/az/cali.

right now there's:
21 from minnesota (we're getting some talent but missing kids to UM, Mankato, even St. Thomas/Concordia-SP/etc.)
6 from north dakota (should be getting the top recruits from the state every year)
2 from south dakota (SDSU most of the top talent from SD)
3 from montana
1 from nebraska
1 from manitoba
1 from iowa

that's great if we're in the NSIC/DAC/NCC, but this is DI and there's A LOT of talent in the south and there has to be a few kids that want to get away from home and some of the crap that happens down there. the football team and softball team dont have a problem getting players from out of the region. With UNO coming into the conference soon, I could see some more kids from nebraska/iowa/kansas showing up on the recruiting trail. we've got a good relationship with DMACC right now getting a lot of players from there (they send a lot of kids to the MVC, southern DI schools).

sorry for rambling. I could go on and on about this for a while.

NDSU sent 14 batters to the plate in the 10-run eighth.

In the first game against SUU, all 10 runs in the 8th were unearned!

Merry Christmas huh

Somewhat. We earned those ten runs that inning when you look at the play-by-play. Inning led off with an error. SUU got a strike out and a fielders choice. We then followed with 7 two out hits mixed with a couple free passes to get the 10 runs. Only 1 error in the inning isnt SUU really giving us a Christmas gift (unless your family draws names and you only get 1 christmas gift :ranting:)
