Figured I would start a thread for the good legislation. Probably won't be quite as long as the bad thread, but why not.

First on the list, allowing homebrewers to sell their beer. Very interesting bill. I personally think that it is a very cool idea.

I couldn't get the Bloomberg link to work so here is another link to a story on it....

What a great bill. It promotes an important state commodity (barley) and makes it easier for an small business to get started. Cudos to Minot Representative Dan Ruby of Minot for this bill. He is a small businessman himself.

ND should pass something similar to what SD just did:

This ND legislature stuff is entertaining......but.....it pales in comparison to what's going on in Indiana right now.

Unbelievable. Why did they flee across the border to Illinois?
Word is that if they hadn't the state police would have rounded them up and forced them back to work.

They're acting like kids on the playground.

Once they start loosing, they start pouting and then take their football and go home.

I am getting sick of politics on both sides pulling crap like this... Its either one side fleeing the state or another putting a hold on a meaningless confirmation it is all b.s. politics. Of course on the other hand the party in power, (whomever they are) are often doing things to further consolidate power and not to act in the best interest of those who sent them there....

I guess the we the people are dumb enough to allow crap like this to happen. To think many of our problems can be summarized in cute little slogans. To think the best way to govern is to fit into one of two camps and god forbid you agree or compromise with someone in the other camp on any issue. I guess we get the government we deserve.

It is a sad commentary on the state of civil discourse and politics in this country.

There as least a 200 year history of these sorts of quorum busting tactics in the United States.

I don't know what's going on in Indiana, but I don't blame the Senators in WI one bit. The Union has agreed to every monetary concession the governor requested and there's been no movement from the other side. This is a principled fight against a bully and I believe that the citizens of WI agree with the Union on this issue. What they're doing is not illegal nor is it unethical or immoral. If anyone is degrading the civil discourse in WI it's the governor.

I didn't and won't choose sides. I still think it's sad.

I to think that Tony once made me change my signature line immediately after I changed it to include a political-type reference around election time in November!!http://www.indianmotorcyclecommunity.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/Feet-Up[1].gif
