I know this is not relavent to Bison athletics but "wrestling junkies" should like this.

HS wrestling has 14 weight classes and AP has 9 guys ranked #1 in 3A. They are pretty much the national HS champions in wrestling this year with them defeating everyone they have faced including Brandon, FL. Brandon broke Bismarck High's record of consecutive dual wins in the 90's.....I think.

Open enrollment has definitely benefited them with kids coming into their program to wrestle. Lehman kids from W Fargo wrestled there then came back.

AP has a kid (Hall #130) that is ranked #1 in 3A and is only a 7th grader.....and I think he might be ranked nationally as well. I think he transfered in also.

Sort of comparison: Gophers had 10 All-Americans in 10 weight classes when they won the national title in 2001 or 2002.

Pretty cool that there is a HS wrestling machine so close.

:smh:

Harold Delancy, 19, faces two counts of disorderly conduct after he allegedly struck a 16-year-old wrestler from Oregon in the head with a chair at the Clash wrestling tournament at the University Center Rochester Regional Sports Center.

Uhhhhh, I thought that was totally legal! Maybe it's only legal if you use 2 chairs.http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IzGDYJE7jOs/TCfMh8xRPII/AAAAAAAAEP4/nXcEFUuCWVY/s400/ProWrestlingChair
