Nice. IMHO, he is kind of raw yet since he has played only 2yrs in an FCS program. Maybe teams will look at him as a diamond in the rough sort of player. Maybe somebody will take a chance and put him on a practice squad?

Gatlin is turning some heads.



Josh Gatlin, a 6-foot, 195-pound North Dakota State cornerback, played physically and intercepted a pass intended for Kentucky receiver Chris Matthews (who dropped four passes on the day when running short routes facing the quarterback). Fort Valley State speedster Ricardo Lockette also failed to separate from Gatlin, who appears to be capable of sticking with any receiver at this game. His hands, size, and relation to world-renowned speedster Justin Gatlin piqued the interest of scouts.

ha will do when i talked to him last night he said the experience alone is the best part ...playing against "bigger,better" schools and holding his own makes him proud to be representing NDSU... he's kept with every wide out hes covered oh ya and his 2 pick 6's dont hurt his stock any either :nod:

Good effort and results for Gatlin.......he was getting blocked pretty good on a couple runs earlier. Anybody else notice Gatlin only has one Bison logo on his helmet. The other side is missing one.

Yeah, that is kinda weird. I wonder if he took it off to give to someone else? Or he left it open for more stickers like I see other guys doing.


On an off note, I miss the Snow Bowl. I remember growing up with the game. It was always so much fun, we knew the organizers so we got 50 yard line seats 1st or 2nd row. I have tons of programs with autographs...the players were always fantastic with me as a kid. I remember getting a kickers autograph and he was telling me how no one had ever asked for it before...I quickly replied "You have the best chance to make it to the NFL" he just laughed.

As to the logo's on Josh's helmet. In the past, some of the players from other schools would have their helmets covered with other schools' logos, however you'd notice that the Bison helmets would always remain the same. That's because of the tradition of the helmet that Izzy probably passed on to them that you have to earn your stripes and logos and they are not to be messed with. I guess missing one is OK. At least the helmet remains clean.
