How on earth do you cough up that lead in a game like this? 20+ turnovers? How?

I didn't listen to the postgame, but the Bison had to be pushing at least 20 turnovers. Apparently ORU is tied with Notre Dame for most steals per game.

When Burich or DeGagne were in the game, the Bison were able to control the interior. Once Burich got hurt and DeGagne fouled out, ORU was able to score a lot in the paint (and off turnovers). Those two stats were pretty much the game.

Not happy with the results of the game. We should have put this one away. Once ORU got a few points ahead you could see the morale drop and then they self destructed.

tough one. one the good side of things we proved that we can play with this type of competition, just have to cut down on the silly mistakes and not give up when things dont go our way.

Are you serious? The bison had no control of the interior for better than 4/5's of the entire game. Most of ORU's baskets were uncontested layups. To put this into perspective I think the Bison held ORU to 3/21 from 3 pt range.

Drive... dish... easy lay up.

The sad thing is it got to the point were you knew what was coming, but NDSU was so out of position they could do nothing to stop it.

Don't get me started on our lack of motion on the offensive end in the 2nd half.

Well, from my view of the radio, whenever Burich and DeGagne were in the game, the Bison were up by 12+ points and forcing turnovers. And I would venture to guess those two played about 1/5 of the game. ;)

How many players were left on the bench after those two were out? I know this team annually lacks depth, but haven't followed close enough this year to know how many bodies they can throw out there.

You had a better view then! ;)

I don't think it mattered who was in defensively. NDSU had no answer. The reason the ladies were up so big in the 1st half was, to their credit, they shot the lights out. I don't know about minutes, all I know is the ORU dominated on both ends of the floor. NDSU was in the game because of stellar perimeter shooting.

I think only Peltier and Lako were available.

I have to agree with most of the posts here, this was a very disappointing loss from a very winnable game. The Bison kept carelessly throwing the ball away which was the difference in this game. I can't count the number of lob passes into traffic that resulted in a turnover.

ORU went into a zone defense in the second half. The Bison found no way to attack it, other than throwing them the ball.

ORU went into a zone defense in the second half. The Bison found no way to attack it, other than throwing them the ball.

The ORU coach purpose spread the front of the zone out to cover the wings. NDSU had lost Burich by then. The point guard would come down the court stop her dribble, and the defense only had to heavy cover the wings. The middle needed to move more to the top of the key to get the ball moving.

Heard it mentioned by players on the radio and other people, NDSU played the 2nd half not to lose, and ORU played to win.

Before the adjustments and losing players, NDSU looked alot better than I have seen in along time.
