These guys should be better than solid and could be dominant. Boyer should be a monster. Stoyzinski and Hagen should be solid. Jirik appears to have the talent to become even better than Boyer imho. Other guys in the mix are Luecke and Mike Hardie....what do you know about these two?

Luecke is a great kid. Very smart, on academic scholarship (I think) and will out work most. I don't know if he has the talent to be a dominant starter, but should be a great guy for depth on the line. He was starting to "flash" a bit in fall camp, so hopefully he's fully recovered from the knee injury. FYI, didn't look like the knee was bothering him at this big brothers wedding on Friday!!

Boyer has a very real chance of being an All-American. Absolute beast. Stoczynski showed some very nice things as well. It's going to be interesting to see how the offensive lines shift from the middle to the ends with the loss of Gratzek - could open up for Perry and [possible other starter=Drevlow] to make some noise early on.

Jirik is going to be a pimp.

I hope Luecke bounces back, but thats never easy after a knee injury. The coaches really seemed to like him.

Boyer could be our best DE we've seen in years. Stoczynski is the starter and better run defender. Jirek is one of the best pass rushing ends I've seen in ages and he was 2nd on the team in sacks as a pass rush specialist and backup. This team will be incredible on 3rd and long. We need Jirek to be better against the run and Stoczynski needs to be a better pass rusher. Don't know much about Hagen but he should improve this year. Was the backup to Boyer and got a few sacks.

Don't know much about Lueke. Went to South. Walk on. Biggest defensive end on the roster. Major knee injury last spring. Don't know much about Hardie either. His weight is sort of low but he was a true freshman last year.

Kyle Emmanuel was a redshirt last season from Nebraska that is a kid who will make a difference. He played DE and MLB in HS, and was made a DE when he arrived on campus.

I think this could be a good strong point for the defense. There is a lot of experience and talent at this position. Boyer will lead this position once again and hopefully create enough attention and havac to create sacks for a lot of the guys again. The one thing we need since the beast is gone after a great career is another DT or DE to be able to get to the QB also. Scott needs to get better and be able to create and jirik was the beneficial person to be in the right spot at the right time for most of all of his sacks, so hopefully he can create on his own for this next year and open it up for others.

DE is no doubt the strength of our defensive front. We have 4 very solid guys that we can put in and count on. We will have good experience mixed with youth. Good depth here. If one or two more guys step up behind the other 4 even better!

He is a DE. Gonna be a great one. Really big/tall kid.
