What happened to Joe?

He injured his left knee - never did see what the nature of the injury was.

I thought someone said in another thread he has an LCL sprain that would have taken 4-6 weeks to recover from.

Which is worse, ACL or LCL?

ACL is definately worse. For athletes, means have to repair surgically and 9-12 months rehab. LCL usually needs no surgery and can be better in 4-6 weeks. So to pick one-pick a LCL.

CB,
It is important to start with..........this post is in NO WAY a jab at you and I mean absolutely NO DISRESPECT. Just pointing out an interesting factoid regarding an non-traditional ACL repair outcome for an NFL stud.

In 1995, Rod Woodson became the first player to return from reconstructive knee surgery in the same season. He tore his ACL against the Detroit Lions trying to tackle Barry Sanders in the first game and returned to play in Super Bowl XXX between the Steelers and the Dallas Cowboys 19 weeks later. In that game, he broke up a pass intended for Michael Irvin, hopped up and pointed at his reconstructed knee-Wikipedia

This type of accelerated and extremely aggressive rehab protocol is not appropriate for everyone but in athletes the "return to play time" seems to get shorter every year.
