Preview:The fighting boys from the streets of north Fargo are the Rocky Balboa of this year’s FCS playoffs, cast iron jaws and all. The problem is, so far, they’re the ones doing most of the punching. Just like Rocky, the Bison have saved their haymakers for the late rounds, outscoring their first two playoff opponents by a combined 72 – 20 in the second half.
The last team picked for the field, the team nobody gave a chance, especially the guys over at The Sports Network, are one of only eight teams standing after two knockout rounds. Robert Morris, like Apollo Creed, and Montana State, like Ivan Drago, are down on the canvas. So are Missouri Valley Football Conference foes Northern Iowa and Western Illinois.
Question: Does this mentality, and mental toughness, give the Bison an edge this weekend; or, does every team remaining in the playoffs have this same quality?
