As I arrived at my seats for the game on Sat I was asked to remove my hat because it violated NCAA rules.

I looked over and my brother that walked in about 5 minute before me was sitting there without his hat as well, same lady stopped him.

You can see the hats in quesiton in my sig line(Coors and Coors Light hats)

I don't have a problem with it although I thinks it's silly. I am wondering if anyone else had a similar experience and I also wonder that if I had a baseball cap on with a huge Coors logo, or a Budweiser shirt would I have been asked to remove it?

Same reason why the Fargodome had to cover up all the Shooting Star Casino wordage (SE corner of the Dome): NCAA rules...

This was a directive of the NCAA, not the Dome.

Yeah, alcohol and gambling are two big no-no's for the NCAA.

It did take me by surprise but I did understand that it was the NCAA and not NDSU or the Dome. I didn't have a problem with it, just had to sort of laugh.

Am I the only one who DID NOT MISS hearing about the "Gate City Bank No ATM Fees/WDAY/Cloverdale Hot Dog First Downs" on the PA at the RMU game???? He can keep the "How 'bout that Bison defense!" line, but I didn't realize how irritating all the ads were until they were gone.

Actually they can stop the-how bout that bison defense and the first down crap. I dont need to be told that and from the looks of the last game nobody else in the crowd does either.

True but this was a different crowd. Waaaaaaay Different.

Cripes, the lower part of section 4 often stood and cheered on 1st and 2nd downs in addition to 3rd down. I don't remember that happening before and I've had these exact seats since 1994.

I remember way back, 56, when the Bison fans didn't need a cheerleader on the PA mic, telling them when to cheer (back in the day, you were on the field -- outdoor football in Fargo).

Congrats on Saturday's win. It sounds like the Dome had a great atmosphere for the RMU game even though attendance was not as great as a regular-season game. Hard to beat spontaneous crowd noise -- people making that kind of noise really mean it! (Can you tell I dislike your cheerleader PA guy?)

Are people serious about beer hats being banned? That's strange. I may have to satisfy myself with a look at the NCAA rules -- I wonder if somebody took a rule (like banning beer or liquor ads and stretched it too far).

The only things I like are "Everybody up for the kick-off, the march is on!" and "That's another Bison first-down!" Everything else can go, IMO.

The same heavy hand of the NCAA that discourages beer logos on hats, also prevents UND from hosting any playoff contest in their "Sioux" logoed facilities.

I think personally that NDSU officials were attempting to follow to a "T" all rules and regs promulgated by the NCAA, and were not going to push the envelope on any given that this was our first (yes, first) playoff game in the Dome and also our first and only home FCS playoff game. They were just setting the table for the future, at which time we will then let things go a little. I had a great time despite the shackling attempts by the Dome Nazi's>

Absolutely. I feel like I am at a high school game when the announcer shouts that out.

TAB pm'd me and figuires you really need to step up your cheering game. Therefore he is pondering you the use of the yellow jacket, dew rag, and ERIC ESTRADA sunglasses for the Montana State game. I told TAB anything is worth a try ?? :D

But, but, can't he send his wife too? Unlike TAB, who is usually busy posing for pictures, she knows when we get first downs, knows when it is third and long for opposition, and is otherwise football savvy.

Just picture me with his pimp jacket, shades, and a babe under each arm--I have my own dew rag that matchess the coat btw!!

Bisonfan1 do not be fooled by this when CAS speaks of having a babe under each arm. Remember, you guys will be in Montana and "babe" means a much different "creature" there. I'm also afraid that since you will be taking CAS in the Battlewagon you guys will be severly delailed in getting to the game. Mark my words...every time you guys drive by a fenced in area CAS will be pressed up against the window looking for a sheep caught in the fence. When he sees it he will say, "When in Montana..."

Send the Wife TAB!:D

CAS, I beg to differ. I have it on good authority that TABBIES wife has no idea what a third and long is though she does get the concept of third and short.
