Thought I'd look up NDSU's rankings in the MVFC for team stats (http://www.mvc.org/football/stats/team.pdf) and compile a list. Anyhow, these rankings are for all games (conf and non-conf) through 11/13/2010 games, and of course are out of a possible nine teams.

Stats in GREEN are in the top 3 spots, numbers in BLACK are in the middle 3 spots, and numbers in RED are in the bottom 3 spots in the conference:

Offense
Scoring offense: 8th
Pass offense: 9th
Total offense: 9th
Pass Efficiency: 5th
Rush offense: 7th
Sacks against: 9th
First downs: 9th
3rd down conv.: 9th
4th down conv.: 3rd
Time of possession: 8th
Opponent 1st down: 3rd
Red Zone offense: 8th

Defense
Rushing defense: 4th
Scoring defense: 1st
Pass defense: 5th
Total defense: 4th
Pass defense efficiency: 1st
Interceptions: 1st
Sacks by: 2nd
Opp. 1st down: 3rd
Opp. 3rd down conv.: 3rd
Opp. 4th down conv.: 7th
Turnovers gained: 1st
Red Zone Defense: 8th (slightly skewed by % ranking. NDSU was 4th in number of times in Red Zone, 5th in how many times the opponent scored in the Red Zone, and first in the number of TD's allowed in the Red Zone).

Special Teams
Kickoff returns- 5th
Field goals- 5th
Punt return avg: 2nd
PAT kicking: 4th
Punting: 1st
Kickoff coverage: 2nd

Penalties
Penalties against: 9th
Opponent penalties: 2nd
(Looks like NDSU must bring out the yellow hankies. NDSU did average 5.6 ypg FEWER penalties than their opponents, so NDSU must be one of the most penalized game for most MVFC schools).

I was hoping to see some glaring weaknesses, but the only one I found was the entire offense.
