How about SDSU. Is four losses a big problem for them?

How isn't it? They need to win the conference to reach the playoffs...unless everyone else falls apart in the FCS. Our conference is shizzy this year, and we are the ONLY team with an OOC win that will count for anything...and we are the only team with a chance of getting an at large IMO.

Yup.

SDSU's last 4 =

@ISU(B)
vs MSU
@NDSU
vs UND

Even if we win out, I don't think we make the playoffs, unless we win the conference.

If SDSU wins out and doesn't make the playoffs I would be shocked. I'll even put a wager on it. Toughest schedule in the nation, 2nd in the conf, and a 7 game win streak are hard to argue against.

I agree. Of course that means you guys win in fargo and were hopeful to win out as well. Bottom line if we beat you guys and win out were playoff worthy. If you guys win out and beat us, your playoff worthy. Of course we have to worryabout the other games first. Let's hope for a meaningful game.

Yep, its now 20. Two more auto-qualifiers and two more at-large teams.

"The top four teams are seeded, however, the matchups are not strictly set up by these seedings as geographic considerations are also taken into account to minimize travel. In April 2008 the NCAA announced that the playoff field would again expand to include 20 teams beginning in 2010. At the same time, it announced that the number of conferences receiving automatic bids would increase to 10."

My 2 Cents

I think the Valley will get 2 teams in no matter what happens. One will be UNI and the other is anybody's guess. The only two teams I don't see making it would be YSU and Indiana St. That leaves SDSU, WIU, IL ST, MSU, SIU & NDSU fighting for that last spot.

As much as I would like to see SDSU make it, I have my doubts. The teams is playing much better now and the schedule isn't as tough but asking a team to win 7 games in a row is a bit much.

I think a realistic expectation is for SDSU to go 3-1. Could they win the next 4? Yeah. But they could also go 2-2. Expectations have to be 1-0 every week.

Any conference win is a good win and they still have two road conference games left and 1 home contest against MSU. My hope is that both xDSUs take care of business making the game in Fargo mean so much more. That would be fun wouldn't it?

I hope the Bison players and coaches pull their heads out of their asses, start making plays and kicking other teams in the balls. Tired of the half ass'ed football I have been watching the Bison play for too long now. All I want to see is a bunch of improvement against SIU and then a total thrashing of the bunnyturds.:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I don't see a thrashing in the NDSU/SDSU game by either team. IIRC, all of the games but 1 since moving up have been pretty tight

Overall records aren't used as a tiebreaker in the MVFC. If teams finished tied atop the league, the first tie breaker is head to head records. If three teams are tied, and they each have beat each other (which could happen in your scenario above if WIU beats UNI to end the season since SDSU beat WIU and UNI beat SDSU), then the tiebreaker goes to their records against the next best team in the league standings and then down the line (in your scenario that would be vs. NDSU first, then ISU-b, etc.).

There is a lot of football to be played before these scenarios come into play, but if there are multiple teams tied atop the conference at seasons end, the most important factor in this crazy conference season might be which team ends up fourth.
