I had my TV synch'd with Scotty and Phil but I did just go back and watched some of the game on DVR and that guy was good. He sounded like Marv Albert.

His other issue is he gets a bit TOO enthusiastic into the games... You should hear him on a two yard run.. Give to Bellamy.. UP THE MIDDLE... FIRST DOWN.. When it was a gain of two.

Dude. Seriously. Watch a couple of games by UNI's announcers or WIU's. Then compare. Guaranfreakingtee you'll be happy you have the dude you have.

I don't remember WIU's announcer. I think I watched the game that year in a bar. I seem to recall UC Davis or Cal Poly's being pretty bad in regards to talking down midwestern football players (their speed namely) and such before one of the Cali Comebacks.

As I said earlier I usually just mute them. I think we take Scotty and Phil for granted. There's a lot of D1 teams who simply have shit announcers.

Yes, for all the Chiefs fans out there, this guy was big time Kevin Harlan. He must have spent some time studying up. He mode and voice inflection was very Harlan. But face it, the color guy was no Len Dawson. :)

Ok guy was turbo excited, but there were times when the a big play came he got SOOOO excited you couldn't understand him. Overall ok production but good god put the camera on the other side of the stadium, not directly into the sun

I thought he was great. It was an overall better production than our TV production. Better announcer. Better camera work. Better graphics. Better audio. Add an extra camera angle and it would be right up there with some bigger programs.

Honestly, WE have the same production quality of high school games. At least we have the visibility but it's frustrating how we fail the capture just how fun the dome can be.

If I were a recruit and I compared the 2 productions I would think Youngstown is big time and we are not.
