It will be more of a defensive game, but I feel that a.the Bison defense is better than the WIU defense, and b. with Brock Jensen as our QB our offense is better than WIU's offense.

Bison win 28-17. Brock throws maybe 1 touchdown. We ran the hell outta the ball last week. What in the history of this team would lead a person to believe we wont just jump on what worked last week and not delve too deep into the Playbook.

Defense will face more of a challenge with the improved WIU offense but come through with some key stops in the end.

I think the offense will have to air it out this week. I bet western is gonna come in bound and determined to stop the run until we can stretch the field.

This won't be a blowout, because the Leathernecks play that funky mutation of a 3-4 defense and they will shut the run game down, so we will need to throw to set up the run. Other factor is that I don't think Jensen has ever seen 3-4 let alone W. Ill 3-4, so the first quarter or two may be shaky for him. We will need to weather the storm and hopefully not have any costly TO's in the first quarter, until the offense gets an idea what W. Ill is trying to do to them defensively. There are also some new O-linemen that haven't seen that 3-4 either. If the Bison aren't way upside down on the TO's we win 17-10, if we are a minus two or three in the TO department we lose.

Conference game, homecoming! This is a must win folks. All MVFC games are going to be tough and I'll take a win this weekend any way we can get it. We are 2-8 in our last ten conference games. Not good! If we get out and throw to set up the run and keep their D off balance we pull away late 24-14. If we cant, or wont throw the ball we could lose this one.

I liked whatever adjustments were made the the o-line last week, particularly blocking schemes in the 2nd half. Jensen started out a little too excited, throwing passes a little high and a little far. But once everyone go into a groove the Bison were unstoppable! If we can get it together for a full 4 quarters (which I think we will) then my guess is:

WIU might have alittle better defense but not much....well see. Their games so far have not proven to me they are for real.

Their defense will probably give us some problems right away today but IMO, the Bison are a better team with a much better defense than WIU. If our offense can move the ball it will not be close.

I would bet my life on the fact that Central Florida, Minnesota, and NDSU on the road is much more difficult than Valpo, Indiana St and Sam Houston at home. (Sam Houston is averaging 15 points a game on offense)

BTW isn't W Illinois averaging 21 PPG and giving up 31 PPG on the road?

What the hell do hs defenses play then (Does HS and college not share a single scheme)? They dont run similar schemes? Hes never seen a 3-4 before last game? Here i thought this kid played like 50 games in hs.
