Lakes #2 problem, NICKEL BACK DEFENSE!

ok. my 1st problem was Jose not audibling.

my #2 problem:

when the OTHER TEAM... AKA UNI THROWS OUT 2-3-4 SPEED ATHLETE'S, WHY CANT OUR DEFENSE??


numerous times on tape, we have Jemison and Anderson and even Evans out in the slot of a shifty, fast lil slot receiver.

Do we NOT have a NICKEL BACK??? honest question, plus that nickel back could actually track down a shifty qb/slot/rb . ARGH. DO I HAVE TO COACH?

Cause everyone has witnessed the way our DB's tackle and as soon as we do that, especially with an injured Gratzek it will be run all day. If our DB's could tackle I'd maybe agree with you.

Bison Defense would be pretty good if they didn't have to be on the field all the time. The problem is the lack of offense........drop the west suck offense Bohl. It doesn't work unless you have an all american line and a QB that is worth a shat.

I completely agree. Our defense has given the team more than enough chances to win.

Dare I say, could this be one of the worst offenses we've had in the 30 or so years that I've cheered for NDSU? I don't know.....at least that miserable season with Bob Babich had highlights from Rod Malone.

I am really, really disappointed in what our offense has shown (or not shown) in the first 2 games, regardless of who we've played. NDSU has always prided itself in offense. We have a defense that's good enough to win this year, and our offense can evern seem to become an average one to help out its defense.

Just pathetic and I'm very disappointed in the current state of the offense at NDSU right now.

If an offensive line is poor and QB play is poor, scheme doesn't matter.

I just wanted to say that I agree, there is a problem with Nickelback. Their first album was good, but everything since has sounded the same. There's only so much "we get drunk and party" songs you can take.

Lakes, I've been saying this for years. I agree 100%. We got away with it on some occasions in the past with Mays/Humber, but I feel this is one of the big reasons why we get beat up by teams that like to run a spread-type formation. I really think this shows his Huskers tendencies.

Agree 100%...in todays game you have to have a nickel package. Big reason H-Back's have gotten to be a big part of the college game, get a pure athlete who doesn't have a "natural" position...not an every down RB, too good of any athlete to waste at FB, but a good blocker, can line him up in the backfield, TE, Slot, and when he gets a LB on him it will be the biggest mismatch on the field.

And I mean a real plan too, not some Cheap Trick. We should take these losses to Heart and sitting on our hands and not saying anything could be harmful. We don't want it to build to a Quiet Riot. That would be the K.I.S.S of death for this program. So from here on out I'm going to try to be a more vocal fan and U2 should too. If we don't see some improvement soon, I think that might Warrant a major change. So in closing, if you feel like the coaching staff is dogging it, don't be afraid to Ratt them out and tell them. Don't let their lack of preparation Poison our program. Van Halen!!

You can bet USD will have the same gameplan for us as they did for the Goophers.

Spread it out and let their QB make plays.

Our defense is better than the goophs but the key will be our offense. If we can sustain drives and keep their offense off the field, Bison will win....easily, IMO.
