Have we ever allowed eleven sacks? That has to be some sort of modern record. How many of those sacks were due to the offensive line? How many were the fault of the QB? Protection?

Thats sad, have to give props to UNI they pinned it back and took control.

Mohler is TOUGH! Man he was taking shots. I thought he was going to open up like a pinata.

To Jose's credit he did have 274 pass yards despite 11 sacks.

He hung in there but when you consider -40 yards of offense it's not good. It was the most frustrating offensive game I have ever seen. Period. Frustrating because our defense is pretty damn good.

I don't think I've seen 11 sacks in one game even in NCAA Football 2011. And I've played that game alot.

We were overwhelmed by their team speed. The defense adapted somewhat, but the O was shellshocked most of the game!

Only one or two was due to the QB.

As was I. The offensive line should be embarrassed. From what I could tell it was a combination of getting beat and miscomunication by the O-lineman. UNI was coming through practically untouched right past two lineman double teaming someone else. I also think our running backs are not hitting the holes quick enough. That was PP's strength, he hit the hole hard before it closed and made his first move after the line of scrimmage. Voit and McNorton are dancing too much.

Our O-line is terrible. Fat and slow. UNI is superfast.

Almost "crazy speed." :D

Sadly, our offense is sub-par all around. :(

NFL RECORD: 12
UNI vs NDSU: 11

As of the start of the 2008 season, the most sacks in an NFL game by a team is 12 and has been done 4 times:
1) Dallas Cowboys vs Pittsburgh in 1966
2) St. Louis Cardinals vs Baltimore in 1980
3) Chicago Bears vs Detroit in 1984
4) Dallas Cowboys vs Houston in 1985

Yeah, UNI is fast all the way around. They looked so much faster on defense, offense and special teams. Kinda scary really.

The NCAA team record for sacks is held by Texas Christian University who sacked the University of Nevada QBs 15 times in a game played September 9, 2000.
This, according to WikiAnswers, which is not the end all to be all....
But, on the bright side, I have had at least 14 sacks with Lawrence Taylor in Tecmo Super Bowl, and that was only one player, not a whole team

Sorry, but I completely disagree. Speed had absolutely nothing to do with this. We are good enough, smart enough, and gosh darn it, people like us. Seriously, they got us out of position...especially in the 1st quarter and less and less each quarter. We did not play good fundementals on defense in between the 20's the first half. On offense...well, I think they just were not prepared. They left plenty of defenders un-checked to go after Mohler. They will get that with experience.

Speed .... is the reason.....bs.......it is the teams inability to play consistently disciplined football!!..........and this comes down to coaching period end of story!

I have to agree that the speed was not an issue, we had 5 guys hit their QB notice I said hit and not tackle. its FUNDAMENTALS wrapping up, blocking, and catching, if you can't do those you will lose every game

:smh:

NDSU actually ran quite a few screen plays to the HB, but after the first two or three our DL recognized screen and fell back to the RB and forced Mohler to take a sack or throw the ball up.

Jose was screwed the entire night.

Apparently you missed the one where Gratzek drove him about 3 feet into the turf?? Granted, that was about the ONLY one.....I'm just sayin' :hide:
