I'm trying to get my group organized for the trip to Cedar Falls and I was wondering if anyone had some info on what hotels to avoid or any hotels that were a good deal, maybe from some of you that went last year. I am looking at either going real cheap and staying at the Days Inn or going for something a little more comfortable. For instance, is the Americinn really worth twice the price of the Days Inn?

Plus,
Who's all going and where are your seats?

I treat a days inn like I treat Ramada's. I've been in some fantastic Ramada's, but some of the shittiest hotels have been Ramada's AND Days Inn. Americinn is ALWAYS the same. Read reviews and check review dates, that should tell you everything you need to know. It's just Iowa tho, so it's not like you have to worry about cockroaches or poisonous spiders if you save $20/night.

So I went ahead and booked the Ho Jo in Waterloo, since everything I checked on yesterday and this morning seemed to be filling up faster than I could make up my mind.

My other question to those of you who went last year, what are the details of tailgating at UNI?

Specifically bringing my trailer, what lot can we tailgate? Which lot will Bison fans be in? I saw that you can tailgate 4 hours prior to kickoff, do they give you time to set up before that or do the lots open exactly 4 hours ahead of kick off?

Two years ago, most of the Bison fans were tailgating in a grassy lot south of the basketball arena (which is attached to the south side of the UNI dome). Look for all the Bison flags!

Not sure about if they have the lots closed until a certain time (they had much less control over what goes on than we are used to here).

I went to a UNI game once and it was weak. Save your money for Kansas or if you do go to UNI make sure to leave a big mess when you leave.

What I remember from 2 years ago there (other than the "Bison home game" chant) was that the concourse was about half as wide as the FFD's...it was just ridiculous trying to get to/from our seats!

That being said...I'm ready for round 2 this year!!

Bison home game....clap clap clapclapclap!

Country Inn is where myself and ricky bobby stayed last time.

TAILGATING is SOUTH of stadium on that grassy hill, we took it over last time.

How was it for parking a 27' trailer there after the game? Was the lot really full?

This is very true. 1975 design just doesn't hold up to today's standards by a long ways. But, until I hit the lottery (and it better be a damn big one) it is what it is. You Bison might not want to see what takes place on the field anyway :hide: :D

Best idea you've ever had, in fact. (sorry, I have no idea what it is supposed to be. I just have a red "x")

Should I start a roll call thread for the UNI game like what was done for the Kansas game? I am tentatively planning on going to the game, but need to hook up with someone coming from Fargo or elsewhere that would drive through Sioux Falls and head East on I-90. I would be going alone and don't have hotel reservations or tickets yet. Any extra tickets with a group out there?

Lakes, sorry I missed you at WE Fest. How did the parking lot look after the game at the hotel? Will I have problem parking my 27' trailer?

The parking lot at the Country Inn is not real big. It would depend on how full they are.

Thanks Road, I Googled it and it looks like there is a church next to it so I'm not too worried. As with Terre Haute, you are welcomed back to tailgate with us.

Go Bison!
