Turnovers are about as important to winning as any single stat. Through the last two seasons, we're undefeated when we win the turnover battle at 6-0. We've also gone 1-11 when we lose the turnover battle.

2009
Positive: 3-0
Equal: 0-2
Negative: 0-6

2008
Positive: 3-0
Equal: 2-0
Negative: 1-5

I think that if we can throw fewer interceptions and ball hawk a little more (and actually hold onto interceptions thrown right at our defenders) we should be vastly improved. So please, new QB, protect the ball!!!

Our corners played 10 yards off the line of scrimmage so until that changes we wont see any turnovers. Then when you run our style of offense it requires long drives that require perfect execution and that doesn't even take into account penalties. That's why teams are moving toward the spread. Who cares if its 2nd and 10 when you can get a 20 yard play. I'm not ripping on the west coast but we need to be perfect or were going to see similar results.
