I was on huskermax.com, and saw this thread.....Houston to Big 12(-2). People were talking about who the Big 12 should bring in to replace Nebraska and Colorado.

:pan: I feel like I keep getting hit in the head with all this hypothetical conference talk that has about 0.01% chance of happening... but its June and there isn't much else to talk about. so....NDSU TO THE BIG 12 :D

Ya, NDSU with a 15-20 million budget playing Texas with 5 times that budget? That's not going to happen anytime soon.

Both NDSU and SDSU will have to eclipse the 20,000-student mark and the $30 million athletic budget mark before a Big 12 invite is even considered. NDSU is about 3/4ths of the way there on the first and barely halfway there on the second.

It is interesting how others(fans/writers/etc.) recognize NDSU/SDSU as being the types of programs that could potentially join a conference like the Big 12. It does speak to the job we've done the past 5-6 years!

If they want states they aren't already in, one choice would be Arkansas (old Southwest Conference).

Here's the better question: Could they pry LSU from the SEC?

Arkansas and LSU in the Big XII (- II) would make Texas A&M very happy.

If that were to somehow (it's a longshot) happen, the SEC would go raiding the ACC and Conference-USA.
